Friday Fever

Scary Spice 1. What's your favorite candy: - Chocolate Peanut Butter Mountain Bars, by Brown and Haley. I haven't seen them around these here parts! 2. What's the best scary movie? -The Shining. It took me years to be able to finish that movie. I would get my nerve to watch it, but then half way through I would turn it off. Finally three years ago, I made it through the whole movie. Redrum, Redrum! 3. Do you like to be alone at home? -Yes! I love the silence. I typically turn off all the lights, light the candles, and clean the house. It is soothing to not have anyone talking to me...(now your wondering about my claim to be Sanguine right?). I am extroverted with a dollup of introvertiveness! 4. Pumpkin pie: eat it or throw it? -If it is made by Sandra Lee...throw it! If I have spent time making it, then we definately gobble it up! 5. The most distasteful Halloween costume you can think of: -A ten year old dressed up as a sexy "Halle Berry type" Catwoman.

I Shouldn't Have But I Am...

I was sleeping soundly, and what to my wondering ears should I hear? Jefferson Regional ringing in my ear! Do you want to be cancelled? Do you wanna be sick? Do you want to be cancelled? Do you wanna, please pick? So what do I say then, what did I say! Please cancel me, please cancel me, please cancel me you may!

In The Dollhouse

Image
I sometimes forget that this crazy blog also doubles as my journal, not just a photo album! I have had sometime to think today...and I spent most of it wishing! Wishing my finances were in order, my family had the perfectly workable schedule, more time with the kids, a laptop, a bigger house, a table that is not all banged up, a headboard for my bed, a new....! Sounds kind of selfish, huh? We all do it! I am not the only guilty person out there. How many feel though that they live in dollhouse? I received my one and only dollhouse when I was around six or seven. It was a paper one that my parents picked up from the UW bookstore, if I remember correctly. I loved/hated that dollhouse. I wanted a huge one with real furniture, not one that could be eaten by my younger brother. I remember playing with it, and wondering what my own home would look like, how many kids I would have (NEVER was my vision just two), and how I would be a good wife to my working husband. I would sit up at night li...

Our annual trip to BOO AT THE ZOO was filled with fun, yet again this year! We had a great time walking around the zoo seeing different costumes, eating footlong corndogs, riding on camels, learning about owls, walking through haunted houses, and enjoying a scarific trainride. Here are some pictures to enjoy!

Expanding My Roll!

Image
For many of you bloggers out there, recruiting is an exciting part of blogging! We love talking to people about how we communicate, and getting them hooked on this new world. Markverse has done a fantastic job pulling Davicusprime into the blogasphere. Many thanks to those of you out there, who have encourage his entrance into this world. DavicusPrime is my brother in law! He is about the most non- serious person I know, but has also amazed me with his intellect time and time again. I have always known him to be intelligent, but am amazed lately, at how he can ride the discourse wagon with my husband. I don't say this to be rude, because if you new my brother in law you would say the same! He is a fun loving, constantly moving , silly, character that never ceases to have me rolling on the floor laughing me guts out( and that is exactly how he would say it, but with a crazy animated accent)! I am thrilled to add his blog to my roll. DavicusPrime , May you always keep it rolling...

Links for the Laymen!

Okay so when did Forbes' website become so interesting? I have taken it upon myself to refrain from turning the Forbes' Radio Report off when I am making my long commute to work. In turn I have learned a thing or two in the past 12 hours, just from listening to the commentary on the radio. I spent a few precious sleep moments this morning to see if their website was as interesting as the talk show....sure enough, it's a winner. Do you think that you are too "unintelligible" for this website? Well then, I dare you to observe for yourself the information that is handy at their website. I think it might have to be my new home page! Oops, sorry Jeff! Monticellolive will continue to be one of my first clicks, okay? Well I came, I shared, I blogged....so now off to bed with me! It's 10:00 a.m. and I bid you goodnight!

Down Right Goofy , It Is!

1. Okay, I should have photoshopped the red eyes out but I thought it went well with the picture! No, she doesn't have some weird swelling lip disease (is there such a thing?). It was just a fun gift from grandma! 2. Trying to be a vampire? Boy, Val you would blend right in with the rest of the crazies that roam the streets at night! I think this pair was intended for little man, but he wasn't interested. Eventually I got him to pose, but with much hesitation and not enough expression! 3. I saw the cutest baby blanket in Hotsprings and refused to pay 25.00 for it (although I just dropped 500.00 on my prada handbag/shoes :) I knew that I could duplicate it...so here are my efforts completed. Quite cute if you ask me. Next one is Andrea's and it will have a silky backside to it. The one pictured is fleece on one side and flannel on the other. Adorable either way! Cute little puppies... Already for Jaxon! 4. Found the cutest lunch idea from Rachel Ray! Candy Sushi! Valerie re...

Friday Fever!

Twisting in my head 1. Have problems sleeping? -Never! The minute I lay my head on my pillow, I am dead asleep. I really am very fortunate since Mark has to read, or watch the "tube" to get sleepy. During the day, since I work nights, I love sleeping with my bedroom window open and the light blaring in! Now, just because I said that, I will wake up next week to find a "peeping tom" at my window! Be ashamed you peeper! 2. Last dare accepted? -I think this was just last week, with the fish egg sushi! I couldn't bring myself to do it! I did however, accept the consequences of failing the dare! Does that count? 3. Last dare given? -Dared Mark to eat all the wasabi on the plate, in one fail swoop! 4. Are you free with your feelings? -I am a sanguine! Of course I am free with my feelings! 5. Tell us a lie: -I just purchased a Prada handbag, with matching high heals! I found it online for only 500.00 for the pair! Who could beat that price? I have it, why not spend it?

Of Fire, Weenies, and Hay Rides

Image
The pictures are from Journey's Weenie Roast last week. We had a great time as always spending time with our friends. The kids had a blast, even though they both came home with toasty burnt fingers from roasting weenies and marshmellows. You would think they would learn from each other's mistakes! We had a blast that night. We experienced the longest country hayride I have ever been on, roasted weenies and marshmellows, listened to a story about a pumpkins light shining out for all the world to see, carved pumpkins, ate candy, and laughed continuously. I hope you enjoy these pictures! Oh, and I am sorry they are showing up a week after the event:)

A Flourishing Fetish...Bento Boxes!

Image
I am so excited by the new blog I discovered at the Vegan Lunch Box . The site is called Cooking Cute ! Lately I have been collecting a few Japanese dishes, and now I find myself craving more. I love the intricate details the Japanese add to everything they create. You can let your imagination run wild as you peruse the various Japanese blogs and stores on the internet. The Bento Box (pictured right) is one of my new Japanese favorites. I recently purchased a plastic one for each of the kids, and they love them. Ethan will cry when I don't pack his lunch in it (we recently misplaced some containers in the school's garbage, so we are ordering a new set). When I run out of time, school lunches are now "forced" on my children! They are truly spoiled by my detailed lunches. I love how the Japanese can make anything cute. Are you looking for a small container to hold your soy sauce? Look no further, I have found the cutest little fishes that serve this purpose. The pos...

Happy Fall Y'All

Image
We love this time of year. The leaves change, the heat disappears (not yet, but soon right?), our electric bill is cut in half, the colors are gorgeous, the calendar gets filled with fun activities, and most of all we get to dress up in silly costumes and hound the neighborhood families for lots of good candy! What could be better? I know most of you are saying Christmas, right? I like that holiday too, just not as much (maybe it's the red and green thing)! We opened the start of this exciting month with a night/weekly kids reading time with the latest from the Magic Tree House series called Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve . We also love reading the kids to bed at night, and the new book is an extra treat. I am sure we will pull out the Scared Silly Scholastic Reader for a few quick reads during the week. It is sure to make the kids gasp and giggle. Mark even stocked up our queue at Netflicks with some hair raising, sleep at the end of mamma's bed, kids movies. One T.V. channel...

Steve Irwin Tribute

Steve Irwin's last great moments...

Friday Fever

Mush 1) Name one of your bad habits: -Leaving shoes around the house so people (usually me) can trip on them. I have a ton I could list, but that is the one I've been in trouble for since I started walking! 2) What do you expect from friends? -Complete honesty and an inmeasureable amount of time! 3) What is the last thing you wrote down? -Medication schedule for my patient. 4) What is the last favor you did for someone else? -Hung a new bag of fluid for a fellow nurse. 5) What is your favorite TV show? -Come on, I don't have to answer this one for anyone do I? How well do you know me? You can answer this one for me in the comments...
Japan The Beauty Within...

Up, Up, and Away!

Image
Fasten your seatbelts. You have just boarded JAL airlines and your final destination is Narita International Airport, located 70 kilometers Northeast of Tokyo Japan. Your flight is approximately 16 hours in air, so make sure you have adequate reading material with you! The plane lands, alittle bumpy but hey at least your on the ground now. You wonder what your experiences will consist of. You hope and pray they let you sleep some since you've crossed a time zone or two! In your suitcase you have stashed several gifts from the States for your Japanese hosts. You've read somewhere that it is customary to give gifts upon arrival. You've learned that in Japan they appreciate the honorary custom of the gift melon, but you know it wouldn't get past customs. Your not sure why a melon, but you are about to find out. Passing by the local vendors in the airport you start to realize that fruits are highly overpriced. You think to yourself that someone would have to obtain great we...

A better view of Jaxon

A better picture of Jaxon! He is soo cute. Of course, he is in his honorary "gymboree" going home outfit.

Why I hate cell phones...

Image
Finally a picture of my new nephew! I think this is a "precious" picture, minus the irritating cell phone in his right hand. Why do people want to spoil the important moments in their lives? Set the phone down! Set your phones down, and realize there are people around you that crave your attention! I'm not just talking to my brother, but to all of you who carry one of those crazy things. On the other hand, he is quite adorable, do you think? I welcome you, Jaxon! I hope that this life brings you much joy and happiness! Congratulations Jeremy and Lexie!
