Reunion: Day Three

Image
Sunday! I woke up earlier than my hubby and kids so I headed to the Internet Cafe for a latte. Walking around during the wee morning hours was wonderful. The city was so quiet. My plan for meditation failed though because I found that the coffee shop didn't take debit cards. My In laws were right behind me though and offered to pay for my latte. They also felt that I should not walk two more blocks to the beach by myself so they discreetly agreed to accompany me. Sweet....he hee. Sunday's highlights included: a trip to the outlets, another game of May I, Championship May I conclusion, third and final tournament of whip cream cherries competition, Rick and Curtis' famous BBQ, and distribution of trophies. Another day wrapped up, and complete.

Family Reunion: Day Two

Image
We are having a great time. We started off Saturday with a super yummy breakfast, said goodbye to the five golfers this year (old gen. weren't up to golf this year), and the rest geared up for shopping after hearing the rules from last years winner, Aunt Miget! Unfortunately the older gen. didn't last but an hour so we branched apart and I took the kids, and cousin Victoria shopping, eating, and bicycling. I tried to give them an experience so we ate at a traditional Japanese restaurant where we took off our shoes and sat on the floor! After all that food we rented a pedal wagon and spent an hour biking around Seaside. Val got her first driving lesson, and actually did quite well! In the evening the May I round started, and ended with Mark going to the winners circle tomorrow, and me, losing. Valerie joined the tournament this year, and did well but didn't end up in the last round! I abandoned the group and took my whipped Vodka and Simply orange back to our hut and soaked...

Reunion: And We're Off

Image
Slightly late start, Friday. We got on the road around 5p! Thurston county was a crazy mess! Of course the streets in Lacey are clear because all the residents were on the freeway! We made it to Seaside at 930p. The Hyundai survived only in lieu of the deal I made with it. I promised it a full detail if it would stay strong, prosper, and C-A-R-R-Y us all the way to Seaside and back;) Friday was a little rocky with emotion, but I managed to pull it together! I went to sleep feeling pretty proud of myself! We spent the whole drive playing music requests from each person in the car...we rocked out to Powerman 5000 and Linkin Park to Adam Lambert and Justin Bieber! Of course we heard Totoro and others that Charlie loves! Fun times and good memories;)

Finale

Last track meet of the season! Ford vrs Keithley. I guess with track they never announce winners, so I never know who did better, but I'm pretty sure we came out on top. Valerie ran the 75 meter hurdles, 200 meter relay, and the 200 meter dash (which was an add on at the last minute, which she was excited about). I am so proud of her for making goals each meet and surpassing them! WTG Valerie! After her meet we went shopping for some summer clothes for that girl...really good deals out there right now. She even wanted a necklace! Yeah!!!! After putting the kids to bed, I went to see the late night showing of What To Expect. It was a hilariously, light comedy with a couple sad moments, but an overall great flick. Thought it would help me relax for the up and coming weekend. Night all!!!

Oh Yes, Please!

Instagram...one of the best photo editing app around! Okay maybe not as good as some of the high end, expensive apps but very photo friendly, and you get to share your photos, no matter how artist, with the world. So I hope, rumor has it, that they are actually in the process of creating an Instagram camera. It would be similar to a Polaroid, but with all the apps functions. So guys, hurry up and get your Instagram on because this camera could change the world!!

Promotion

Image
A Guest Post by: Valerie Wegley A week ago, It was a very special Saturday. It was promotion. In my school of Tai Chi Chuan Fa Kung Fu, promotion is a ceremony in which we get a new belt color. But promotion isn't a test. No. It is a chance to apply your amazing skills and moves, and to gather with family. The school is a family. Whether you have just joined or have been active for ten years, you always get a warm welcome. Maybe that short explanation was a bit scratchy, but I just can't cover all the amazing achievements and events that happened that day. What is also amazing is watching the little ones like Ethan progress and grow to become a black belted warrior! Ethan really did an awesome job at promotion, even though he was only there for 4 or 5 weeks. He even got a speech for his belt! It was about how he hung with it, and didn't give up on promotion, even though he hadn't learned much. I am really proud of him.

Mothers Day 2012. Sunday we chose to go to Point Defiance for my day. After my lovely breakfast in bed {Venti NF TN Latte and a Very Berry Scone from Starbucks}, and a trip over to plant my mom her very own Salad pot, we headed back out to the Zoo for some relaxing time. We are officially Zoo members now...it just made cents as well as sense! He hee. We made it just in time to listen to a long talk about how often the two Sumatran tigers are breeding. They are overjoyed at the extend love sessions their tigers have been experiencing. According to the zookeeper normal breeding for a female tiger is 3-5 days and she was currently on day 9! They are hoping for at least two to four tigers with her litter. Interesting. We rushed home and I left the family and enjoyed a wonderful pedicure and a yummy Indian Curry dinner with my sister and mother. Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I love you. Presents: 30.00 itunes gift cards, flowers, front door mat

Track Meet #2

Image
It was Ford against Mann Middle School. We smoked them! Val ran the 100 meter and the 800 meter relay, and beat her previously stated time for the 100 meter. I am very proud of her for her endurance, drive, and hard work! She was the fastest in her part of the 800 meter! 100 meter timing: 17.06 seconds

Track Meet #1

Image
Track is going great. Although the first meet was cancelled, this one was scheduled against Eatonville at FPHS. Valerie participated in the 100 meter dash and came in fourth place. Great for her first run. Val's time 18.6 seconds

Underground Seattle

Image
Saturday night after my mini, unstable, laundry induced, premenstral breakdown we skipped out of town to Seattle! We stayed at the Sheraton in a parlor suite, which is one room connected to a dining room and living room. First thing on the agenda, swimming. We took squirt guns and a whiffle ball to the pool and had so much fun! Hey, I even talked to another lady there. Trying to be more social. We ended our swim time around 10pm. We were super hungry so we headed across the street and ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Ethan and Charlie both fell asleep at the table! I love it when we wear the kids out! We went back to the hotel, divided the beds and fell asleep within 20 minutes. After a wonderful breakfast courtesy of the Sheraton we headed down for more swimming, then a long game of Settlers of Catan, and a quick exit out of the hotel to get to Seattle's Underground Tour! What a fun tour. The tour guide scared Charlie by talking about all the rats underground and about some ghostie...
