Totally Teen

Bowling Party planned, last minute of course, for my birthday boy. It was suppose to be just our family but we love having large get togethers so it ended up being everyone on my side of the family. The word boy no longer describes him. He is a TEENAGER, a mini man, a sweet, full of love guy! He is almost taller than I am. By next year he WILL be taller. We've recently been letting him cut loose of his daily medication and he is doing a good job staying in control. Maybe growing older will remedy that too. His party was not only fun, but a blast. We stayed long enough to have the bowling turn into GLOW bowl, where they turn out all the lights and everyone bowls under glowing fluorescent lights. On Friday we gave him all his gifts: Fridge stock Pop Tarts from Val Amazon Gift Card Kindle Fire

Valentines

All week long I've been dressing Charlie up in red for Valentines day. On Friday we opted for pink. I have been clothes shopping for the kids lately because it seems they have no decent clothes to leave the house in, Val had gift cards so we spent a night out together shopping, and of course Charlie is always easiest to shop for since she loves pink, frills, and dresses. Harry and Arlene wanted the kids for an overnighter on Saturday so Mark and I celebrated Valentines a day late. I woke up to a romantic card sent as a text on my phone and a gift from Jared's Jewelry! My bracelet is getting heavy!!! I love my new owl charm-love, love it! I have him his gift when he got home. It is a bookmark that had a quote engraved on it, and a Q&A book that we can journal in for three years. It has quick questions so that it doesn't overwhelm the writer! I think he likes it. We went out to eat at Azteca, The Ram (they have trivia games in the bar), and for breakfast we ate at Shaka...

On Our Minds and In Our Hearts

Lots happening in our lives! Birthdays, working, errands, counseling, and kids fill up our days. I love my kids. Each one of them are so unique and precious. Ethan is turning into quite a handsome young man with two girls competing for his attention. He is a stellar mathematician and is thinking of studying Law in his future. He has a great group of friends, and has been doing great with his teachers and counselors. He turns 13 next Saturday! Valerie is changing every time I look at her. She is moving out of the moody teenage stage and into being a friend and confidant! I'm proud of her artistic and social abilities. Her and Ethan were both nominated/selected to be in the district honor choir that will preform in March at PLU. Today she is at a interest meeting for Tennis, which she is really excited about. Then comes my baby. I've had a great time lately teaching her math, reviewing site words, writing sentences, and making tiny tumblers for her to complete. The other night w...

Frozen in Time

Once in a lifetime...let's hope not! We chose to fight crowds estimating over 700,000 to celebrate our Seahawks! We pulled the kids out of their half day of school, and took them into the city. We started around 7a-arrived around 9a. We secured a location around 4th and Pine, and began our wait time. The parade didn't start until around 1215p, which at that point we lost Ethan to the cold weather. We bundled up enough for the cold but it didn't save our toes. We had fun getting psych'd up with crowds to see our CHAMPIONS, and that is hopefully what the kids will remember in years to come! I had fun!

Super Bowl Beasts! We are the Champions. Seahawks are the Super Bowl winners. We had a great time chilling over at Jer's house watching the game with the whole family (except for Mike). We taught the youngsters how to bet on a football game and even Ethan walked away with $10.00 for the 3rd quarter score. Mark won the largest pot for the final score of 43-8! Seahawks nailed it!! Can't wait till next year.... Paleo Snacks: Spiced Walnuts Bacon wrapped dates Asparagus wrapped Prosciutto Deviled Eggs with Paleo Mayo

Celebrating

What a awesome Birthday! The week started out with a fun birthday dinner with my sister and mom at Marlene's Deli. We grabbed a salad and sat and chatted while we opened gifts. My mom and dad gave me gift cards for Massage Envy, and my sister bought me Pandora's Faith, Hope, and Love charm. I love getting together with the girls, we have so much fun. Wednesday I signed up and received "on call" for 8 out of the 12 hours I was assigned to work. Sleeping in was my gift to myself. Mark and Charlie woke me up with a big Happy Birthday (which I love to hear first thing in the morning) and a sweet card/gift card. Everything was perfect. Mark and I sent the kids to school, got pedicures together, and had a relaxing lunch all before they got home from school. I went to work for four hours and the women I work with bought me a Costco chicken for my birthday since we are eating Paleo. It was very thoughtful and I have to say I have the best co workers around! On Friday a coupl...
