Spring is Springing

Image
I feel accomplished today. I cleaned the house in preparation for tomorrow's hand over, I exercised with my hubby this morning, I went to work and delivered a baby in two hours while I was there, returned DVD's to library, closed 4 savings accounts at Sound, went to the grocery store, watched and helped Ethan and Char do homework, folded 5 loads of laundry throughout the day, planted our seeds for starters, and am currently making dinner! Wow, who knows what tonight might bring. Only one error made today...let my child ride her bike with a tank top and short shirt and no coat on. Can't ALWAYS be perfect!!!

Cousins Forever

Image
If Ryan would've agreed to wear a pink/purple necklace Charlie would've bought him one too. Instead we gave Ryan a bow and arrow Nerf toy for his birthday present and Kylee received the two in one Cousins Forever necklace! She was so excited to give the necklace to Kylee, it was precious. Friday started the round of Birthdays off with Charlie's invite to her friend Mercedes' party. She had a blast and did great job attending the party by herself. We celebrated Valerie's birthday Saturday, and then Kylee and Ryan's on Sunday. The Children's Museum and laser tag kept Charlie and I busy all day. She concluded her weekend with a sleepover with Kylee and Lanie, just the girls.

Birthday Questions

It's interesting to hear their answers change as they grow. I started this last year with Ethan, and wish I had included Valerie. Nervous about this being out there so I will probably make it private in a few days. Hope you all enjoy!

It was a Wacky Wednesday

Image
Last week Harvard celebrated Dr Seuss' birthday with different dress up days based on his books. Wednesday was Charlie's favorite, Wacky Wednesday. She loved dressing up in an outfit that didn't match. She wore whatever she thought she could get away with. I don't know what she loved more...having wacky hair or wacky clothes! My Wednesday was quite the opposite. I threw away all insecurities and went with a friend to the Olympus Spa for a ME day. We had such a blast. Walking around either in a thin robe drinking tea and eating Korean food, or being completely nude in the pools/massage room was very liberating. I loved it. It made me appreciate my body. Sure, I would love it to look like Amy Adams but it's doesn't right now. Accepting myself will help lead to change. I am my worst enemy. I talk so horrible to myself sometimes, and sitting there Naked with many different women made me realize that apart from Hollywood, perfect women don't exist. My body deser...

Inspired By Mayhem

Image
Fashion By Mayhem has been all the hype lately. It is blowing up my Instagram and will soon be brought to the likes of Ellen and other shows that highlight hot new trends or upcoming styles in the blogosphere. I fell in love with the idea immediately. Who doesn't want to be a fashion designer with their impressionably sweet 6 year old daughter! I may look like I have time on my hands, but I don't. I do however enjoy arts and crafts with the kids. We usually enjoy movie night, board game night, or spend time in the kitchen cooking, so replacing that time with paper dress making just made sense. I used materials from the dollar store so we weren't out too much to create our first masterpiece. I chose Lupita's (Nyong'o) Oscar winning dress Sunday to be our inspiration. We had fun whipping it up but Charlie didn't like trying it on. It was itchy, cold, and uncomfortable for her. Therefore my photo shoot was VERY short. We might try again, but maybe she will have t...
