Comfort Zones

I applied. Day shift is looking sweeter and sweeter to me everyday. If I don't get it because of seniority that's okay too, because my goofball friends at work are awesome. They keep me laughing all the time (which is good for my BP), and they help out when I am swamped. I am supported. Day shift is loud, busy, high volumes of traffic, open to increased spending since they have a cafeteria available, management filled, Dr. driven, and all around 100 percent different than anything we have going on at nights. I. A.p.p.l.i.e.d. I even told my husband about it so I don't weasel out of it. Will it be different for my family? Same amount of days, but no sleeping during the day. I will sleep when they do. I will wake when they do. I will eat breakfast when they do. I WILL accept. I have applied!

My littlest loves shopping. On a recent shopping trip the other day, she found a naked mannequin. She dressed up the mannequin without any help from Valerie and I. She did a great job and was really proud of her work. A couple days later she found herself a princess dress in downtown Puyallup. She tried to convince me to buy it but it was priced at 69.95! Yikes;)

February Fun

Image
We have been very busy this month. We are thankful to be able to play as much as we have lately. We need to slow down though because I am tired. Beginning early February we went to Roslyn with my sister and her family for an extended weekend. It was a lot of fun. We spent three nights and four days up in the mountains near snow. We spent out time sledding, ice skating, eating, hot tubbing, and socializing. By the end of the month I was preschool helper twice, became members of the EMP, went to Point Defiance Zoo, went to a book reading with the Daffodil Princesses, Charlie made homemade book marks for everyone, and went to an Oscar Party thrown by The Slaughters. In between weeks I had one of the worst ever months at work. I'm tired, worn out, and waiting for spring to come. I am looking forward to the next few months. I am ready to plant, watch my garden grown and stock up on some much needed Vitamin D!

Fantasies

I love being organized. Clutter fills me with unneeded stress, as does being disorganized. My husband and I can maintain the house pretty well, but my schedule/calendar is a wreck. I currently use my iPod calendar, but it doesn't help me to remember events because the alert system is flawed (in my thinking). I need to see the calendar, and write in it to remember each event. I love writing stuff down. Right now I keep the kids organized with a dry erase chore board that sticks to the wall in the bathroom (made by Wall Pops), and works as a flat surface. I love it! I use FlyLady.net for their organizational chores. Each day they send me a list, or flight plan designed to keep my house free of clutter. They also send me flight plans for the kids. My mom use to do this back when we were young. It was called the SHE program (Sidetracked Home Executive) and it used 3x5 cards for chores. We have so many tools at our fingertips that we all should be so well organized. In comes another, E...

Happy V Day

My day started out rough. After a debrief and mimosa after work, I felt better! I came home to a valentine gift on the bed...perfume and an adorable card from my honey! Chicken and Joes and a large chocolate cake ends this night perfectly.

Time Alone

My time line is so crazy right now, but I need to race through some posts to get caught up. If I was only more disciplined...anyhow Mark let me loose for a night on my own to Portland. I chose to take the train, which I've loved since my first serious train ride to North Dakota when I was 14. One of my New Years resolutions was to complete my husband's manuscript of his first novel, by January 29th! Because of the train, I finished his novel and had time to daze off into space thinking of how awesome it will be too see it published! It is truly amazing, and increased my thirst for the next novel! I arrived in Portland, walked to my hotel, The Crystal Ballroom. My room was even upgraded to a suite free of charge. I had everything all planned out. I ate where I wanted, walked where I wanted, and stopped when I wanted. Time alone was just what I needed. I spent the evening at The Living Room Theater watching a romantic foreign film and drinking a wonderfully warm alcohol spiked c...

Days Gone By

Happy belated birthday, Charlie! I don't know why I don't post this stuff right away but time always gets away from me. We had an impromptu get together because our whole family was sick with the GI flu on Char's birthday. It was fun anyhow and special because Charlie got to have both sets of grandparents at the house at the same time!!!
