Happy Fall Y'All
We love this time of year. The leaves change, the heat disappears (not yet, but soon right?), our electric bill is cut in half, the colors are gorgeous, the calendar gets filled with fun activities, and most of all we get to dress up in silly costumes and hound the neighborhood families for lots of good candy! What could be better? I know most of you are saying Christmas, right? I like that holiday too, just not as much (maybe it's the red and green thing)! We opened the start of this exciting month with a night/weekly kids reading time with the latest from the Magic Tree House series called Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve. We also love reading the kids to bed at night, and the new book is an extra treat. I am sure we will pull out the Scared Silly Scholastic Reader for a few quick reads during the week. It is sure to make the kids gasp and giggle. Mark even stocked up our queue at Netflicks with some hair raising, sleep at the end of mamma's bed, kids movies. One T.V. channel begins to air scary movies for adults on the 19th and lasts till Halloween. I know we have plans to tape (no, we don't have TEVO) nearly all of them! The fall activities for this month include a weenie roast this Saturday (complete with hay ride), Boo at the Zoo, Pumpkin Patch, and Trick or Treating!
I decided to have holiday fun with their lunches early. I bought a cute little recipe book at the Wally that features several creepy, toe curling treats. On the menu tomorrow:
Person Pumpkin Face Pizza (pictured left is "scream" pizza)
Cinnamon Crisps (shapes of pumpkins and witches)
Apple Sauce
Candy Corn (Mark's favorite holiday treat).
