MH Day #2
MH (Missing Husband) day 2. All is going great. I used to think I couldn't single parent on my own, but if forced too, I now know I can. Don't get me wrong, or think ill of me for saying such! I do love having Mark around, and pardon the cliche, but "He completes Me." Despite that, I am having fun. Mark never puts constraints on my time, but when he is around I want to do nothing but be with him. I tend to leave myself unattended too, for the most part. By that I mean, I put aside my hobbies, desires, and free time to be with him. So in his absence, this is what I have been doing:

Day One consisted of staying at home with Charlie, and getting things (the house) under control. We did manage to cook up some yummy delicious Peanut Butter Oatmeal Sandwich cookies, that I had intended to share with my dad (gone now--sorry dad). Because I baked, I ended up taking the kids to dinner, and then off to the craft store to buy supplies for Princess Lanie's homemade soft blocks.
Day Two was spent with a trip to Lacey to visit with my new niece and nephew Ryan. We had a few hours just to sit and catch up (in between Lanie's multiple poo's that is). I miss having her around. I live a lot closer now, but it still feels so far away because of how often I see her. I love going to her house. Her house is calming, soothing, and clutter free. I love how she has had the same shower curtain for almost 10 years. She never throws stuff out, and somehow manages to keep things nice throughout the years. I am constantly changing stuff around. I think I change things around because it makes them feel clean, fresh and new. Anyways, I had a great visit. The kids played great together and I got to enjoy some snuggles with Lanie. Tonight for dinner, I wanted to try a new recipe that I had DVR'd from Food Network. I love watching Robin Miller, and so I have set the DVR to record it every day. I am several behind, but it is fun to watch in the morning when I get home from work. Anyways, tonight was ABSOLUTELY incredible. I made Grilled Chicken with Brie and Baby Spinach Salad (I used Spring mix from Costco). I paired it with some Quinoa. You know that look Julia Child gives Paul, in the movie Julie and Julia, when she is tasting her first fish in France? Exactly how I felt about this dish, and the wonderful sauce that accompanies the Chicken. I even allowed Josh Groban to serenade us through the whole meal. Amongst the talk of Pokemon cards, it was a perfectly perfect meal. My children are now in the living room, relaxing. How come this harmony doesn't exist every night. Valerie even played her Cello for me for about 20 minutes! Surely something will change this serenity that I've found!!! Tomorrow night, I get the pleasure of cooking with my friend Karen. It is sure to be a blast!
