Christmas Spirit- ✓

Christmas has finally arrived. A whole day devoted to Christmas shopping helped me locate my Christmas spirit. Of course the day had it's mishaps...Turning down our friends for another Sheraton overnight hotel stay which included a Seahawks game tomorrow, Charlie falling down and getting wet, Charlie hitting her head on a fire hydrant wheel, and Charlie crying. Despite all that we had a good time. The kids purchased really awesome stuff for each other (with their own money-a first), and a few goodies for us. I ended the night with a shopping trip at the PX with Jackie and Chris. They are so much fun, and I love how goofy they are with their kids. Valerie gets really embarrassed by how much affection they show each other, but she is getting used to it. We and I, absolutely love having the Slaughter's around. It's changing my whole family, for the Better!

I would type longer, but I have Taco Bell sitting here yelling at me, and I bought Mark some sexy cologne so I think I might be tied up for awhile ;)

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
