"Lovin the Rug"

The other day we had the exciting opportunity to work through what types of cabinetry we want to install in our dream kitchen. Home Depot promised it would be a free consultation, so we felt comfortable to just take a peek into our future (way future). Although no big surprise to us, our styles are different. Mark is contemporary modern and I, well I am still waiting for a design stylist to tell me what category I fit in. I definitely enjoy a decluttered room, old houses, and country style kitchens. Oh, and lets not forget about subway tile....love it! What do you think my contemporary modern man would think of this awesome, superly delicious, colorfully wonderful kitchen? I will own the rug that is under the table in the top picture. I would prefer the rug be yellow though. I am addicted to design blogs, and plan to make my own mood boards for each room in my house. Prescription for Peace and Popsicles

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
