My Crazy, Silly, Life
Updates are always a challenge for me. My kids grow so fast and life changes constantly that by the time I am ready to update then everything is different again. Here is what I know to be true today. The kids are doing great. Consumed by Mindcraft (a building type game), playing with neighbor friends, and sleeping in, they are enjoying every bit of summer. We aren't able to do Camp Gilead this year, but hope the kids are ready for Camp next year. Valerie is still doing Kung Fu, and this month we added, Mark to Kung Fu with Valerie, Ethan's Hip Hop class, and Charlie's Ballet class. I guess we are going to be one of those crazy busy families. Ethan really is hoping to try out for softball this year so we are going to be getting him a glove to practice with, since he already has a bat (and can hit balls).
Mark is still trying to find time to write, work, and be a slave to me on my days off. He has turned into a wonderful cook (which I have always wanted), and caretaker of the house and chillins! He is hoping to get some calls soon for the fall quarter.
I continue to run our Home HOA as the president. After the 4th of July, everyone has settled in and the crazy threats have stopped. My neighbor is friendly again, and everyone is looking forward to next year's approved fireworks in the neighborhood (hopefully approved in November). My work schedule has changed, but I love the seven days off in a row! I think Mark hates it because my project list gets so long when I am off for seven days. We love our neighbors and even have connected with a couple families. The kids love to go outside and play with all the kids in the neighborhood.
Sunday we had a chance to spend the whole day out in the backyard. Here is a list of things we did:
Pressure washed the deck/table/driveway/porch
Weeded front clover/back tree area/flowers
Created a new flowerbed for the banana plant and Japanese ferns
Watered
Washed the house with chemicals
Washed on hands and knees the kitchen floor/dining room/and brightened it
Washed all the chair pads/groves between the kitchen table
Cleaned the rug
Continued laundry
Washed, bleached, and waxed the sink
Put up a couple wall hangings
Painted the swing
What I need to finish:
Paint front door
Paint touch ups on bathroom
Hang wall hangings in BR
Make pillow for BR chair
Find cupboard for BR
So tiring just to think of everything I want to do before my open house/baby shower!
