Blood Typed

Image
Now I know Val is not my child. Insert snicker! How you say? Well she asked for blood work, specifically ABO testing to be completed at the Dr's office yesterday! She is such a brilliant, fearless, informative child. She wanted to know what blood type she is because apparently most are O + and she wants to know if she is! I am A+ so my guess is she might be B+ or AB! Along with blood work both girls got their immunizations! Oh and guess what!! Valerie is 5"0!!!! When did that happen? I will post her birthday pictures soon.

Mathletes

Tuesday I got four hours of LC and was able to go with Mark to the Mathletes meet and greet dinner. Valerie has chosen for the second time to be involved in this program. The program emphasizes teaching math in a fun, inventive, competitive style that inspires kids to love math. The program is spear headed by the math department at PLU. These students are not forced to participate, and love what they are teaching these junior highers. The biggest and best surprise was seeing Valerie's teacher from Bethel, Ms. Estrada, and her old classmates. We had a wonderful sit down dinner, and were able to connect with some of her current friends. We are very proud of her for participating in this program. Great evening...

Happy Birthday Boy!

Happy birthday, Ryan! Ryan turned four today, but we celebrated his birthday at Black Hills Gymnastics yesterday. It was great fun to watch the kids jump on balance beams, and swing from the ropes. We had a blast. Unfortunately my sister fed us pizza at the party so that means I have to step up to the plate on Thursday and feed the gang....shoot. Feeling really icky lately with all the crappy food so I probably should head back to Whole30 as soon as possible. So for everyone coming on Thursday expect a crockpot Paleo meal:). Movie tonight: Puss In Boots- Great movie with tons of reasons to laugh and chuckle! Favorite line: "Through the years I have been known by many names. Diablo Gato, The Furry Lover, Chupa Cabra, Frisky Two Times and then The Gingerhead man. But to most I am Puss in Boots, outlaw!

Dr. Seussical Day

Image
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! You have filled my kids lives with so many rhymes over the years. Loads of laughter, and tons of snickers can be heard when I read Charlie Green Eggs and Ham . The Sleep Book is another goody from Dr. Seuss that Charlie can barely stay awake for. All that rhythmical rhyming puts her to sleep before I can read the last page, but I still do read the last page if only to amuse myself. Since my sister was out of town, Ryan had a chance to come along with us. The day started out with green eggs and sausage, aka eggs with avocado sauce and spinach chicken sausage hash. We dropped by a wonderful used bookstore, located at the corner of the Tacoma Dome. We bought a Dr. Seuss book or two, walked next door to a cake shop and ate a birthday cake sample, and then ended the day at the Hands on Museum of Tacoma. These two are the busiest kids I know. It was really hard to keep then in one spot together, but we managed. Of course some lady was trying to parent one of the k...

Making It Ours

We are finally working on redoing the family room. Taxes are helping out our project. Color palates are grays, blues, and gold. Tomorrow morning Ikea will be delivering our wall unit and hopefully in four weeks we will see our couch that we purchased. We have chosen to go on faith, and trust our furniture company. Nothing else TO do at this point, except paint!!
