Lasting Legacy, Postponed Traditions

Traditions are out this year. Our family loves October but for some reason the much anticipated month has been a complete bust sans (except for) Charles' visit. We bowed out from this weekends pumpkin patch meet up with Mike and Shan, and cancelled the yearly Halloween costume party. The kids have been extremely moody, ungrateful, and just lazy. I have been at odds with them, and on occasion Mark. We did our best to shake the bad vibes and head out to Museum of Flight for a spooky Halloween time. We did have fun! I rode on a haunted SIM flight with the kids, and we walked through several historic aircrafts. We boarded Air Force One from Kennedy and Eisenhower's age, and quickly walked through a retired Concord (which made me extremely claustrophobic). We left the various Halloween activities to the other little kids and spent most of our time viewing the aircrafts of WW1 and WW2. Interesting!!! The kids got in for free since they wore their Halloween costumes. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at Burger King and then headed home for a braces preparation party for Valerie/Birthday party for Grandpa Nagel. Jeremy, his kids, Grandpa and Grandma Gigi, and Grandma and Grandpa Nagel all came for the party. We had pizza, veggies, cake, and ice cream. Val chose a Carmel Apple for her last treat before the application of 18 month braces. Good choice. What a great night and great conversations with my grandparents and brother. I love them both so much. It's really hard to see grandma because I get that claustrophobic feeling when I see her. Getting older scares me. I D-O-N-T want too. Seriously. I don't even want to turn Forty. Crazy feeling, I know! Anyways, Grandma looked so great last night. It was almost like my dad gave me a gift by inviting her. Got me out of my "feel sorry for myself" slump. She is a wonderful woman, with a wonderful legacy...which I am thrilled to be a part of. Thanks dad, and Happy Birthday!!!
