Summer Fun

We are so grateful summer is coming to an end for so many reasons:

1. Saves money
2. Kids are bored and we've run out of ideas to keep them busy
3. Our house will stay clean
4. Our food will be there when we look for it.
5. We won't have to keep Charlie in a waiting kindergarten pattern
6. Mark gets double the pay
7. We get some quiet time to ourselves
8. The weather will cool off so we aren't dying of heat every night!
9. I can compost my garden boxes
10. It means October is coming
11. The grass will stay green and lawn care won't be so expensive
12. We can eat soup for dinner!!! My sister makes the best leak soup!!

That is just to mention a few;) We again were very busy in August with then end of summer activities so here's some selective pictures for your amusement.

We moved all the red rock from the side yard and put it around the shed

Kids went to Camp Gilead for their last time together. Next year Val will go to High School camp. It is weird to think the first time I dropped her off there was when she was in third grade. We love this camp and entrust them with our kids. Although the camp needs some renovations, the kids look forward to going there (electronic/music free) every year and it is the highlight of their summer. This year we sent Charlie to Grandpa and Grandma Wegley's and headed to Port Townsend for a little R&R whe they were at camp. We literally did nothing but read, eat, and watch the season finale of the Bachelorette. Awesome time unwinding.

The week before school we always try and get the kids back into a routine. Homework, chores, normal meal times, and bed times make for a fun week!! Homework was writing a rough draft on what they did this summer!!
