Bruh, What's Up

Image
As a mother of two teens I hear the word "bruh" more than I would like. I really have it easy so far. Valerie is a great teenager. Occasionally I'll get some attitude but she is a great student, 3.8GPA, sweet daughter, and loyal sister. She spends most of her time dreaming about Jared and Jenson (Sam and Dean off Supernatural), listening to music, playing with her two snakes, trying to win more snakes online, socializing with her friends, drawing, going to her Larping club, and spending time at Art Club. Im sure the days of her hanging with us are numbered! I love my baby girl. I love her talent, her loving/giving heart, her sweet smile, and her confidence. Did I mention she loves to try new food every time we go out to eat! Apparently she said she would even eat snake!

Chance of a Lifetime

Five glorious nights that I wouldn't trade for anything. I am one lucky employee and one lucky girl. First a 20th Anniversary trip of a lifetime to Alaska and then this, a 5 day/night trip to Honolulu with great friends from work (paid by my employer). Truly blessed! Lessons were learned. I learned that I love wandering off by myself and that my friends are so much fun away from work. I enjoyed the time by myself but missed having Mark with me to share in the beauty of Hawaii. I thought I would hate it because of the heat, but it was the perfect climate and the water was amazing. The water was so blue, warm, and soothing. I wanted to swim everyday out in the ocean. We went to Hawaii for a breast feeding conference that was put on by PESI. I didn't really learn anything new, but it was an okay amount of time to discuss the subject. We left the conference and headed back to the hotel to get back into our swim suits. I was able to go to a Luau, visit Pearl Harbor, snorkel at Han...

Concert Craze

Image
Mark's birthday was a blast. For his birthday this year we purchased tickets in early summer for what turned out to be one of the BEST concerts I have ever seen..Lincoln Park and 30 Seconds to Mars at the Gorge. The weather was beautiful and the view peaceful, grande, and spectacular. We drove over and back in one day, but had a blast doing it. Val and Ethan loved it and I'm pretty sure it topped their "I will always remember this" charts. We packed picnic dinners and stopped at a fruit stand for some extra healthy yummies. The concert lasted forever and was so incredible. Jared Lito singer of 30 Seconds to Mars constantly ran through the crowds singing and hyping everyone up. Lincoln Park sang every song I longed to hear. Amazing talent. A couple weeks later I won tickets to a Pentatonix concert at the Puyallup Fair. Val and Mark had already planned to go but winning two tickets meant Ethan and I joined them. Again, another amazing concert by artists that we have b...

Charlie Girl!

Image
She is an angel without wings! She always has my back and knows exactly what I need and when I need it, whether it be smiles or snuggles. She is in 1st grade and loving every minute of it. She is exceedingly smart and loves to read and draw (sounds like another child of mine). Mrs Bowlby is her teacher this year. During her conference a few weeks ago she showed me pictures and letters Charlie has drawn...I was so proud. Her teacher said she is a helper and friend to everyone around her. It was time to age appropriate her room she is almost 7! I had my friend paint a desk/vanity for her and I bought new curtains and a poof to update her room. She loves it. She constantly for the past two weeks has kept it clean in exchange for My Little Pony Squishies (her allowance).
