Bison, Bears, and Lavender

It was a long day. Yesterday we told the kids of this weekends agenda. We don't usually tell them everything we are doing but we have a lot going on this weekend so we did! We told them we were headed out at 0730 this morning for the Lavender Festival in Sequim Wa. Plans got delayed by 25 minutes and I in turn got upset, which led to stress, tension, huge fight, and me refusing to get in the car with Mark at the Port Townsend turn off till we figured it out. I hate fighting in front of the kids and lately Mark has been loose with some names (that maybe I deserve or not) for me so I figured it was better to finish the fight outside versus inside. Things were said, feelings were hurt on both sides, but we hugged it out (my need) and carried on toward the day (his need). Trying to make the best of a very frustrating morning we stopped at the Sunshine Lavender Farm, looked around, snapped some shots, shopped, bought some Salmon jerky, smelled the lavender, and then headed on to Sequim for the festival. Sequim was packed, hot, crowded, and full of useless vending. We roamed the streets, got $$, and bought  avender ice cream before leaving. We headed on to the Olympic Game Farm for the last part of our journey. We drove through twice, except for the Bison and Elk! Mark refused to take our car back into that area. Everyone was stopping their cars even though it said not too, so the Bison came right up to the car. Some of those Bison were bigger than the car! Charlie took the PHOTO OF THE DAY---the bear catching Val's piece of bread!!! Beautifully done. We left there and drove a few blocks up the road and let the kids wade in the river! It was a wonderful spot and would be great to go back too for a day. Quick stop at Subway for lun-ner, Goodwill for a bag of golf balls, and then finally home.
