Happy Veterans Day

It was a wonderful day all around! We celebrated our veterans by going to Charlie's assembly last week, where she dressed in camo pants and applied several patriotic tattoos to her body. She was so cute. She loves music class, and even spends a ton of time with her door closed listening to her radio. She interviewed her Grandpa Wegley about his time spent in the Air Force, and than sang the Air Force Anthem to him on Sunday. 

Yesterday we chose to steal the kids away from the house and their electronics, and take a car trip to Monroe to the Reptile Museaum. Everyone time we go they are working on new displays and have changed things up so we feel like we are seeing new animals every time. Thanks to GROUPON we got in for cheap, and left with another stuffed addition to our family! Mr Albino Alligator! Ethan wasn't too excited about going but he agreed and off we went. We played quiz questions in the car and on the way back listened to everyone's "inspiring/motivating" song choice. Two of my children listen to way too much Spanish/Catalonian music. Here is that list:

After the Reptile Zoo we went to the Tullalip Casino and outlet mall. Charlie asked if after dinner she could play the slot machines. I told her she is underage and in the State of Washington it is illegal for her to play them. She said, "we need a new President, Obama doesn't let us do anything!" Soooo funny! 

When we got home we all rushed to get our PJ's on and headed to the couch to watch the new documentary about RENALDO. I'm so glad my kids have different interests because I would've never watched this on my own. It was really good. I hope he wins the Ballon d'Or this year!

Prescription for Peace and Popsicles

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
