My first Christmas off in a long while. It was a quick day of trying to relax with the whole family. We did our Christmas early around 730-9, the Wegley's from 1000-2p, and then the Nagel's from 3p-7p! It was fun though. I had an awesome Christmas full of lovely, thoughtful gifts from the kids and Mark! At the Wegleys we chose names and gave a 15.00 gift and then something used from our homes. I got a beautiful colbalt bowl from Mark's mom that belonged to his Grandma Abston's mother! In our family the adults exchanged names and played the white elephant game! We had some great unique gifts and we all had fun exchanging and stealing gifts. The gifts ranged from lotto tickets, towels, coloring books, adult games, Seahawk socks, to cold hard cash! I got new towels (perfect for the kids bathroom).  When Mom and dad went to see Grandma at the house we stayed behind with Shannon and Mike and toasted the holidays in Dixie cups. We couldn't find any cork removers or wine glasses.....we improvised!

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
