Into the Fold

Today we welcomed Geralt and Misha to our family😻😻. We miss Goliath 😿and although no one can ever replace him we felt like we had a hole👎🏻 in our family. What better than two kittens 🐱 🐱 to fill that large void. We met and had two play sessions with these two today. Mark and I met them in the morning and we couldn't decide which one to choose so we decided on neither, and were planning to wait till next month. Fast forwarding the productive part of the day (ordered new glasses for myself, got groceries, and had sushi with Mark), we gathered the kids and took them back to the Shelter to meet Geralt and Misha. They had been living with a foster family and had just been brought in for adoption earlier the day before. Mark and I changed our minds when we really began talking about getting both of them. It made sense. We might have also gotten the third but his name was rascal 😾and he was exactly what he was named. He liked to bite, scratch, and absolutely hated to be held. I be...

Pacific Science Center

Fun was had today, and after yesterday we were in need of it. Sunday was a relaxing day except for Valerie who had a ton of homework. Luckily she finished in time for a small nap before the heated game against the Cardinals. The Seahawks did a great job of keeping us in suspense the whole time. Harry and Arlene came over for Mexican Delight and the torture our TV provided them. So much yelling the whole game. I felt so bad for Hauska on the final fateful kick. He had the whole hard fought game in his capable hands-feet-and he missed it. We still love him, the Hawks, and Mexican Delight.  Today I am currently riding on a bumpy, big, yellow, noisy bus headed back to Harvard after a ALL day field trip to the Pacific Science Center. I'm tired, and hungry (apparently I was suppose to bring a lunch even though last time they fed the chaperones and begged them NOT to bring any money) but we are almost home. My group of kids were great. They stuck together, didn't fight, and played har...

Masquerading at the Capital

Getting ready to Dance the night away  Okay we are ready!  Selfie          Drinks in the Secretary of State Office                           We were asked to the ball by my sister on Friday afternoon and somehow we got ourselves together enough to look amazing for the Masquerade Ball at the State Capital. It was a fundraiser for the Combined Food Drive sponsored and hosted by the Secretary of States Office. Kim Wyman was a gracious host and even opened her office to serve the community a variety of wine, beer, and cider! Valerie and I had the priveledge to introduce ourselves to the Secretary of State and to get a photo with her. She has a lot on her plate right now but in the midst of running the campaign she looked amazing and didn't seem to be giving into the stress of politics.  Everyone enjoyed themselves. Charlie and Lanie literally didn't leave the dance floor all night....

Guys and Girls

Last week I was fortunate enough to be able to catch a hour listening to this man. He is the Dalai Lama's physician. He lives in India and travels all over the world teaching to colleges, universities, and other medical professsionals. He spoke of compassion, empathy, negative effects of our job, healing, meditation, and the joys of sneezing. I'm glad I had a few moments to sit down with this man. He exudes peace and tranquility. Multicare is truly an amazing company to work for, and be apart of. The opportunities are endless with this company. They really do try and find ways to encourage their employees. It's opportunities like this that make me want to be a better employee! During the same week I stumbled across a scholarship for those seeking their ARNP license. The deadline was October 21st but I was able to complete it and get it in by the deadline date. Multicare is offering a 45,000 Scholarship and it pretty much guarantees a job when completed! It's not somethi...

Google Outlook

I've been using the Google Calendar for the past six months and I have to say that I love it. It allows me to color code events, has spontaneous pictures for things, and remembers what/where I'm supposed to be each day. Valerie and Mark has access to the calendar so about a week before hand the schedule gets pretty crazy. I wish it had a task manager because I need one of those every day! Sunday we were able to finally go to an appointment I made two weeks ago at iFly. We purchased the gift certificate two years ago for Christmas for Valerie. Geez, bad parenting huh?           Thursday started my rotation off right by spending the day with my work family learning Epic Storkboard 2015! I tried to make it fun by charting a love child between me and Ian Somerhalder. Our baby ended up being 10lbs 7 oz and 24 inches. Yikes       This is how we felt at the end of training...ha ha ha!      Valerie and her friends at Senior ...
