Guys and Girls

Last week I was fortunate enough to be able to catch a hour listening to this man. He is the Dalai Lama's physician. He lives in India and travels all over the world teaching to colleges, universities, and other medical professsionals. He spoke of compassion, empathy, negative effects of our job, healing, meditation, and the joys of sneezing. I'm glad I had a few moments to sit down with this man. He exudes peace and tranquility. Multicare is truly an amazing company to work for, and be apart of. The opportunities are endless with this company. They really do try and find ways to encourage their employees. It's opportunities like this that make me want to be a better employee! During the same week I stumbled across a scholarship for those seeking their ARNP license. The deadline was October 21st but I was able to complete it and get it in by the deadline date. Multicare is offering a 45,000 Scholarship and it pretty much guarantees a job when completed! It's not something I planned during this chaotic time in my life but hey when an opportunity presents itself you take it. It's in the hands of Multicare if I go back to school right now!

My girls have been quite the pair lately. Charlie is so in love with her sister and the bond has been so strong as of late. They laugh together, snuggle, and 4out of 7 nights they sleep together. I only separate them if Valerie is so busy and is exhausted. My girls have truly created a awesome sisterhood. Because of this My heart aches for them and for the transition of Valerie leaving for college! They will miss each other. I love watching them though. It's so sweet. I am blessed because all my kids love each other. Sometimes Ethan and Char get in each other's space too much but they do love each other.

Our family has enjoyed being on both sides of the fence politically. Valerie can't vote this November but she wishes she could. She tries to change our Republican minds. It's not working. Maybe when she researches the Judge Scalia fiasco she will finally come around. It's okay for me if she chooses to be a democrat but I don't want her to think that Hillary is the best person to run our nation. I embrace her difference and even help her in her interests. I called over to the DNC to see if she could give some volunteer time too. I like to think I'm open minded. I want my children to choose their own path in life.

Charlie Charlie Charlie! She isn't too happy with her name lately. She found out that her name literally means MAN, or MANLY in nearly all versions. She is a hoot. We started a chore board this week and the first day she did all her chores, even added one so the $ would come out to an even $2/day.  The next day she refused to complete any other ones because I failed to pay her on the day she did them. I tried to explain that on Saturday I would pay her for all chores completed during the week. I don't think that changed her mind;( She is going to keep me on my toes when I'm 52;) She drew me this picture last week. It is of her and I. I love to see how her pictures have started to become more enhanced. I even have a crown here! She has been complaining about headaches at school. We tried sending her water bottles, having her use doterra oils, and using her brain breaks at school but nothing was helping. I took her in on Thursday to see Dr Day and guess what? Pumpkin needed glasses. She is farsighted and was having a problem focusing when reading. I hope the crazy big glasses she picked out for herself will help her headaches and her reading!

Ethan has been experiencing some tough love this week. We finally said enough in regards to his homework being missing. So everyday he has been sitting down at the table from the moment he gets home till bedtime. He allowed up of course for food, breaks, and to stretch his legs, but for the most part he must stay there till his grades on line show nothing missing! Yikes. We aren't being cruel. He is simply getting two incompletes just because he didn't have his signed syllabuses in from the first day of school. We have talked about these several times with him and even dropped him off early to turn them in. It had actually been nice to see him more this week!
