Gold Frankincense + Myrrh

Image
Christmas Eve- Wegley Celebration It was our first Christmas over at the new house. Surprisingly we all fit in their new house. Apparently mom had asked the guy next door if we are too loud when she has the family over but they said they couldn't hear a thing. So dad tested it....he gave us all kazoos for Christmas! It was awesome. We hummed several Christmas songs and near drove mom mad with them. She kept saying, "I told you that was a bad idea Harry!" It was MY favorite gift because it got us all doing something together--ha ha ha! Valerie got a Kearse jersey, Ethan a soccer ball, and Charlie a large stuffed lion from G+G. We played the adult exchange gift with them and everyone seemed to have a good time-enough that they want to do it again next year. We gave mom and dad a last minute gift of folding chairs, and socks for all the girls. Mark and I walked away with a diffuser and a nice Seahawks Blanket for our exchange gifts.       Christmas Day- Thanks to Charlie...

Faithless

Monday at High Noon we witnessed a part of history in Politics, the casting of votes from the Electoral College! It was slightly crazy mostly to blame on the Chair of Electors. She was off topic and off script for most of the ceremony. We also enjoyed the first round of fluting from the tribal member of the College, until he played it three times to different parts of the room. It was definitely something I won't ever forget. I did get frustrated at all the electors who were disrespectful of our founding forefathers and the process of the Electoral college. They seem to think this is the last time the US will utilize the electoral process. Whatever, don't they know Politicians work at their own pace to make change! Ha ha ha! However we did enjoy being part of history, watching the process, and supporting Shannon.   Our playlist for our drive to Olympia: The Election of 1800 Hamilton  The Left is Right The Story of Tonight We are Kings Donald Trum Vs Hillary Clinton   ...

Alumni Basketball

Image
Saturday we were able to make it for the entire 50 minute TBS Alumni game this year. Last year I got there for the last play. I love watching my brother play. He was the oldest Alumni out there and he looked great showing those youngsters how to play Bball.  He is so fast, competitive, and good at all sports. I do love seeing my old school too. The building itself holds some great memories, wish I could say the same about the people there. It was fun showing Mark my middle school hallway. During the game they were also celebrating Gary Anderson's 40th year of teaching. He used to teach my class Bible, but now he teaches History and AP US History. He was a great teacher and I remember enjoy his class, my Chemistry Class, Accounting, and Algebra.

Christmas Concerts

Image
Charlie and her BFF Lexie                  Two different schools with two totally different approaches to a Christmas Concert. Charlie's was in a gym (because public schools never have rnough $$$ for a stage for their programs), wasn't allowed to be called a Christmas Concert, it was loud and noisy, only involved the 3rd graders versus the whole school, and lacked a back drop. Don't get me wrong, it was still lovely, cute, and made me extremely proud. However it is nice to hear songs about Jesus, see the whole school participate, have a music teacher who is crazy talented, and see a backdrop. The atmospheres are different. Each lovely in their own ways!

Girls Day Out

Image
I need to do this more often....spend time with friends. I've worked with Nancy for years and this is our official 1st time out together. It was a blast. We went to Seattles' Bakery Nouveu, Wings over Washington, a couple of souvenir shops, Great Wall Mall, Dim Sung restaurant, and back home. We had a good time chatting and shopping! The WOW was a very quick ride but a lot of fun!!!

In It to Win It

Christmas Traditions Continued

Image
I like this tradition. It is fun, for a good cause, and gets us into the big city. We've been doing this one for nearly four years. Sometimes we stay at the Sheraton Seattle but this year we decided on a day trip. We are saving our getaway for after Christmas. We drove up early Sunday, visited the Sheraton and then went to the Space Needle for the killer deal coupon I got from Starbucks. The Sheraton's Juvenile Diabetes Foundation sponsors the Gingerbread extravaganza. They get top chefs that work together to make candied gingerbread displays. This year the foundation chose Harry Potter. It was the best displays we've seen there. The candied displays were amazing, precise, and so well thought out. It was our favorite!  I picked up two coupons from our first stop at Starbucks for a free adult ticket to the Space Needle. It was the perfect day to go. The rain and clouds had left the city and the view was breath taking. Santa was at the top too. Killing two birds with one ston...

Pajama Day

Image
Saturday we decided to lay low with the kids and wanted to start a new tradition. We decided to go out as a family and find our own PJs and then use them before Christmas. It was trying at times to find 5 people pj's in a mall packed with Christmas shoppers, but we did! We all love our jammas that we chose. Mark's pj shirt even has a Gryffindor Crest! It's approprite since we are climbing our way through the Harry Potter Series again! After we found our pj's we headed back home, got in our new jams and watched movie 3&4 in the HP series! I love my kids! They are so fun to be around. PS Ethan is not pictured here because he left us after buying jammas and went to his friend's house.

Bath and Body

Image
I started my rotation off with a trip to Winco for groceries, Tiny's to drop off the car for a tire patch, and Home Depot for paint. Our Bathroom is in much need of a new color, a brighter color! It is so dark and dreary in there. I chose a nice grayish light blue color that I think will look fantastic. I'm excited for the color but not for the actual painting process. I also plan to border the mirror to make it look more distinguished. Maybe new lights too! The pictures above are from Pinterest and are part of my inspiration. 1. The first picture I love the plates on the wall, the chunky shelf with a outside picture above it, and the cute table. 2. I love the idea of a coat rack in the corner, in the 2nd picture. The color is similar to what I picked and the mixture of peachy pink and blue makes me feel like the ugly peachy granite tile on the floor will undoubtley work with the paint I chose. 3. I really love the idea of shelves so ...
