Daughter Date Day

Valerie and I spent the day shopping together up at Westfield Mall. We had a blast driving up to Tukwilla and shopping all day long. She got some clothes, we had a sushi lunch, and visited LUSH (one of my favorite shops recently—have been taking lots of baths lately and using bath bombs and oatmeal infused lotion bars to help with my skin and my CHI). Mark bought me two magazines for Valentines and I am slowly working my way through them, while I bathe. We also checked out the Asian Fish Mart and Val brought home a 12 lb Yellowtail Fish to fillet and prepare for us. Everyone in line asked her what she planned to do with him....it was funny. She is so full of adventure and let’s NOTHING stop her. She has never filleted a fish, but she did, and it was tasty. She even brought over her friends to enjoy the spoils. I unfortunately was taking a nap so I missed getting pictures! Here is one that doesn’t do it justice. It was skin up so it looks burnt in this picture but it wasn’t. It was paired with Bok Choy and homemade Mac and cheese.

Prescription for Peace and Popsicles

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
