Calming an Overactive Brain

Image
Our conference the other day was all about calming our thoughts, worries, stressors, sleep and it’s benefits, so and so forth. It was very well presented and I pulled quite a few ideas from it. One being the Thankfulness/Gratitude journal and the worry journal. So after picking one up at TG while waiting for Mark’s surgery to be over, I decided I would combine the two. So it’s like a flip book...one side is for worrying and the other is for three things I am thankful for each day. I have three days worth already since I was able to transfer over the past two days. I can’t say I am a changed, calm person but I am definitely putting a effort in. Today I completed my job requirements and am just awaiting final completion. It is out of my hands at this time. It went into the worrying section but I wrote that there is nothing I can do except formulate my documents for my current job. It is now my action plan. I am thankful for all the blessings I have received and how God orchestrates every...

Nanowrimo Month Commences

Inspiration and beauty is everywhere you look. Sometimes I allow myself to be relaxed and calm enough to take a few minutes and reflect on the things that give me joy. I was fortunate enough (despite my own anxiety about being away) to spend a few days unwinding with friends who are very important to me over the weekend and browsing some adorable shops near Poulsbo. Some of the images and displays caught my eye and I thought I should document them because they touched me.  Make Time for the things that make you feel happy to be alive.  After all you only get so many moments and those aren’t even promised! Be bold and go for it. It could change your life for the better. What do you have to lose? How cool would it be to have a painting of Ray’s barn on moms wall? Or Aunt Eddies? By the way I almost brought home the bird clock on the wall! My favorite things...rocks with words that make me think of Mark (he is my rock and I love him so much!) reminders to tell mom I love her, an...

Carved Up

Quiet Sunday. Charlie is under the weather and looked to be running a temperature but didn’t mind carving pumpkins. Valerie is in town for the 1000 Gecs concert so it was the perfect time to get our pumpkins carved. Valerie created a MidSommer pumpkin, Ethan’s is a 1000 Gecs pumpkin, mine is a puffer fish, Charlie’s is two cats snuggling, and Mark’s is the scary one. It was so nice to spend family time together again!  Ethan and Valerie just left for the 1,000 Gecs concert! I hope that they have loads and fun and get back home safe!

The Difference

I hate cheap hotels. I love my express deals at Priceline because I can get a 4-5 star hotel for the cost of a 2-3. It works for my budget. Except not tonight because they had no express deal tonight in Missoula. I am currently wide awake because the room is 82% with the supposed air conditioner running. I would cry but I’m afaraid I would just dehydrate myself. I tried to call the office but no one is working!!! Mad 😡 The trip is going good and we made good time. Charlie and I rode together most of the way. We had such good talks and great music! We will carry on tomorrow to Helena. We miss Ethan a ton. I did just get a notification that he made it home okay so I can try to rest now.  Saying goodbye 👋🏻  Ginkgo National Park Museum Charlie getting the best “Vantage”Point Arie is headed to Montana too! Why is he riding with me is the question! A Meme Mark made about me;(

This last and most exciting picture is of Ethan on the TCC campus preparing himself for the start of his freshman year of college. He found out today that he was awarded a $2000 ...
