Ending and a Beginning

December marked the end of using multi cares insurance for me and the kids. Before we changed insurance I wanted to make sure and get everything done that we could do you single insurance. The optical plan hey slightly better on my insurance then on Mark’s insurance but that is the onlyDrawback. We are going to be saving quite a bit of money using Kaiser Permanente. So both of the girls both got a new pair of glasses. They both have unique styles and preferences and are very excited to show them off. Poor Ethan, all he got was six cavities filled—can’t really show those off!

My mom had to have surgery and all went well. She was a trooper and didn’t harass the nurse this too much. I’m glad she’s back on her feet now and back to being strong. I don’t like to see my mom weak since she’s always been the strong one, the healthy one.

This month starts off with a bang always! Charlie’s birthday is one week after Christmas and catches us by surprise every year. Usually we are just finishing wrapping up all the Christmas decorations when we find ourselves in a rush to pick presents and Plan a party. We tend to like small informal family parties instead of inviting all her friends to one kid party. We invited Jaylin and Lexi but unfortunately Jaylin couldn’t make it. We chose to have it on Sunday because I was in the middle of my work week. On Friday (her actual birthday) Valerie and Ethan took her roller skating. I love that they love her so much and want to do things with her. I strive to make sure the kids are close and present in each other’s lives, it’s important to me and to their future selves. Don’t get me wrong sometimes she can drive them crazy 😜!

Grandma after she was feeling better took the girls to go see Mary Poppins. I’m so glad because I have no desire to see this movie. I was at work when I got texted this cute pic below. I love it...selfies with grandma’s phone, finally!!!!

Our month has been full of fun so far. We are waiting to hear if Mark got his job at UMA and Val starts work today at Chick Fil A! Yesterday turned into quite a productive day. I cleaned the fireplace inside and out so it’s shiny glass and full of embers. I went through all the bills and the mail. A feat in and of itself! Did a ton of shredding. Got all the laundry washed and folded and with Mark’s help put away. We had a yummy steak dinner with a appetizer of Carrot Artichoke Soup made with the Vitamix. I absolutely love it and so do all my hoodlums. Of course smoothies are their favorites. It is definitely a counter appliance since we use it so much. Thanks Mom and Dad for the awesome new kitchen tool!

One of Charlie’s requested gifts was a spa day! It gets pretty expensive. Luckily Groupon had a great deal for us which made the time even better!!
