Job Shawdowing

Image
Ethan finished his 2 job shadows that are requirements to graduate.  He chose two very different job shadows but had a great time at both. Andrew from Kirks Pharmacy allowed him to come in on Friday and follow him for 3 hours, asking questions, discovering what a pharmacist does, and of course finding that it takes nearly 7 years to complete a Pharm D degree! For his other job shadow he had 6 hours of fun job shadowing the Lakewood SWAT team. Basically he got to chose to be a good guy or a bad guy, and then hid in buildings while the SWAT team blew up doors, saved the hostages, and shot paintballs at the bad guys! I would’ve loved to watch this training.

Snowmaggedon

We are survivors of the storm. I planned to stay in every day but I couldn’t accomplish that...the snow was begging us to come and play in it. We got nearly 20inches in our area and got nervous that it might never stop, but it has finally ended for at least 24 hours. I hear there’s another coming soon! I planned our food every day and found myself in the kitchen more than I would like but was greatful I had everything we needed. The menu was full of fun: Orange Chicken and Rice Korean Beef Tacos Steak, turnips, and Brussels sprouts BBQ beef sandwiches with homemade fries, cornbread, and salad Beef and mushroom stroganoff Leftovers today Soup and Salad tomorrow Plus I made shortbread, homemade sweet potatoe fries, cookies, fried pickles, banana oat pancakes, and homemade snow ice cream 🍨 twice! I have cleaned the kitchen and emptied the washer so many times this week. I planned to read but got 2 pages for in and got side tracked! Oh well! I’m just glad Valerie is back to work and the ...

My Birthday

Ethan’s last RSA game in Snohomish The best tacos ever!  Thanks for the bowls and oil Shannon! A good philosophy My birthday mug with homemade rosemary shortbread from Glenda at work I asked for nothing for my birthday but a few stolen days away with my husband. The kids loved the idea because they hate trying to buy gifts and this way they didn’t have to. They kids graciously let us sneak away for 2 nights after Ethan’s last soccer game in Snohomish. We left Sunday night last rotation and came back on Tuesday before the week heated up. The first night we arrived very late into Port Townsend and we already had decided to try another hotel in town because it was just as cheap as our hotel we always stay at plus it included breakfast. Win win! Well not so winning at 0300 when we listened to a rat (or several) scamming around and digging a bed in the walls of the hotel. He sounded like he was right next to us! Yuck! I called the Super and he didn’t answer so I left a message went bac...

Talking About My Girl

Oh the places she will go and the things she will do! Dr Seuss would be proud and definitely write a book about this child. She has worked so hard the past two years for this...one more class for her AA degree! She has been accepted into MSU and is excited to leave in September.  We will miss all the joy she brings to our house and the many different passions she teaches us about. Her latest passion is guitar 🎸. You can expect that by graduation she will have bought one for herself. She is learning on Ethan’s acoustic guitar but spends a lot of time at Ted Brown and Guitar Center plugging in the bass guitars and playing some cords thru their amps. She is the 2nd proud owner of a cute Vox amp that she found at GC. She purchased it and can pick it up on March 3rd! I think my house might get noisier! I love her passions. They end up becoming ours too because she is so infectious when she has a new passion. Her guitar class is her favorite class this semester and she can’t wait to tu...
