Great American Road Trip Day #6/7

Day. six and seven we went from Las Vegas Nevada to Bullhead Arizona to Grand Canyon and then back to Las Vegas Nevada in one day. It was a day that was full of driving, excitement, one in a lifetime moments, and picturesque places that we are more than glad we spent time seeing on our vacation. I got up early Wednesday morning and was watching the news from the bathroom (there was a TV in the bathroom) while Mark and Charlie were working online. The news came on and said that Trump had arrived in Las Vegas at the Trump tower around midnight for his rally’s later in the day. I looked up where he was going to be and found that he was headed to Bull Head Arizona. We decided it was a must for the days adventures. We detoured our plans and headed to Bull Head. It was something I will never forget. I was so proud of our Country that day. I had hope (now hope is replaced with dread and fear). I used to not care that much. I don’t know why I do now. I think the thing I hate the most is not that Biden won but that there was so much reporting of voter fraud. I can’t stand it when people don’t play fair. It’s always been my vice. President Trump that day was magnificent and I pray that our country will be so in 4 years from now.

We made it to the Grand Canyon! What a spectacular beauty. I can see why people push themselves to the edges to get pictures because I don’t think I have ever seen something so marvelous! I wish we had longer to stay and enjoy it more. We saw it at the best time right at Twilight and then as the sun went down. The gift shop was open so we bought some playing cards 🎴 and a water bottle for me! The drive back to Vegas was long, dark, and without any scenery. We couldn’t even see Grand Coulee Dam. We stayed at the Luxor and slept well until the alarm woke us at 630a.

We drove all through:

To make a pit stop in San Francisco. California drive was long and boring but The Golden Gate and Ghirardelli Square made up for that! The view along the waterfront are nicer than ours. Once we made it out of San Francisco we didn’t stop until Ashland! It was a long day and we finally tested at the Holiday Inn express in Ashland. Beds were fantastic and we slept well and were back on the road by 630a.

We made a unfortunate stop in Portland. The city had lost ALL its charms for us and we have no plans to ever return. We picked up our puppy by 3pm and got home and unpacked by 430pm. The rush to get home was driven by my excitement to see my sister and the kids who had flow in to surprise my dad for his birthday 🥳!
