Back to the lunches. If you've had a chance to check out my side bar or the post I wrote on about a specific lunch box I wanted to use this year, then your at the beginning of my story. If not, stop here and check out the awesome lunch boxes I found on the internet. The rest of you read on! The other night, I had a wild crazy moment and realized that it had been at least 90 days since I discovered and wanted these lunch boxes. Remembering back to some Larry Burkett rule, where you have to wait to buy something to make sure you really wanted it, I found myself punching in my credit card number, purchasing two. I thought Mark knew that I was going to buy them, when the timing was right. Well this week presented me with that opportunity. Needless to say that when he was checking my email (for Jeff's emails), he ran across the receipt for the lunch boxes. He has never questioned any of my purchases in our 12 years of marriage. As he continued down the receipt he launched some crazy "your crazy" verbage at me. I have never felt so ashamed. I knew what he was saying, but at the same time I was confident that we "needed" these lunch boxes. After all, they will help me to win the most coveted "mother of the year" award. I explained to him "why" and "what for", and now he seems okay with it. I am still embarrassed but very excited to know that the lunch boxes are in the mail, and on their way. They will be put to good use. This concludes the story of how I got busted the other night. In the meantime, the substitute lunch boxes, worked just fine for the first day. I am really trying to change up the old chips, sandwich, fruit snacks, cheese stick, and Capri Sun lunches from last year. Variety is the spice of life. Any of you that truly know me, also know that I am a mother who encourages my children to try new foods. Hey, they love tofu and edamame beans. Who can say that? I will try to post my lunch lists, if you are interested. A lot of my ideas will come from the Vegan Lunchbox. Hope it helps you expand your daily lunch box choices!Today-Pup in a blanket(hot dog in a croissant)/Fresh Blueberries and Kiwi/graham cracker "bugs and butterflies"/5 Sour Patch Kids ***BIG HIT!
