My Last 36 Hours...

1. Listen a cardiologist tell me the facts about the half life of Adenosine. 15 secs if your wondering. They so love to teach us nurses.
2. Paid off two sizeable debts, thanks to a recent "windfall."
3. Corrected a Dr on his interpretation of a patient rythm
4. Stopped a heart from beating with Adenosine.
5. Watched the heart restart itself into a normal sinus rythm seconds later.
6. Understand that when a cardiologist says "slam it," he means it.
7. Discovered RBC eat up Adenosine as food...gooble, gooble.
8. Paid my water bill all the way up till October 15th.
9. Slept during the day.
10. Rented "Man From Snowy River" for my kids.
11. Scheduled Valerie's horse riding lessons to start next Thursday.
12. Missed "Marriage and Parenting Weekend" because of work. Remember quote from last Marriage Seminar...My Spouse is not my enemy. Realized I rarely need to reflect on this anymore.
13. Miss spending time with my best friend...Mark
14. Listened to Celine Dion in the car and realized she sums up how I feel about Mark in nearly every single song. Particularly "I want you to need me."
15. Miss him more after I listened to them.
16. Contemplate plagerizing the words of her song and send it in an email to Mark. Decide against it because I would so get busted by Mr. Mark
17. Got tickeled when Brother Jim's referred to Mark as "Dr. Wegley." It is a work in progress Brother Jim.
18. Discussed with Brother Jim, Mark, and Mrs. Denise about the South's problem with racism.
19. Phoned my parents to tell them "BON VOYAGE" as they head off on a cruise to Alaska.
20. Ran down JRMC hallways to get a medication, prescribed by previously mentioned cardiologist, all ER like.
21. Set up Blood Transfusion all by myself...look at me go!
22. Read Blogs. Thanks to Brandy for the late night post. It was a lifesaver to a momentary lull in my shift.
23. Learned that Dr's change their minds way too often-after he called three times in 15 minutes to change the orders.
24. Learned that Residents docs have way too much time on their hands. AEB (as evidence by): pretty scenic outdoor picture drawn by resident for patient.
25. Have only spent 4 hours with my family in the past three days. Most of that time was spent kissing and hugging them, and asking about their day.
26. Succumb to my first pre made Betty Crocker's Crock Pot meal, complete with Crock Pot liner. At 4.69 who can beat a delicious meal that received rave reviews from the masses.
27. Listened to my brakes squeak off and on when I drive. Write list of to do's with brake appt. at top.
28. Created my own work schedule that lasts me until mid October.
29. Bought a pocket calendar to keep track of said schedule
30. Bought a second pocket calendar not realizing the first one was for 2007-2008.
31. Read the essay by David Hancock called "The Moviegoer" that Mark talked about in his blog the other day.
32. Ordered chinese food for a meal at 0100. Eating the remainder tonight at about the same time.
33. Talked to my sister.
34. Called Dad to remind him to take his CPAP with him on the cruise.
35. Tried to call Mark's mom to see if she got her Birthday present I sent last week. No answer, of course.
36. Discovered I had previously used my Sallie Mae school loan grace period...years ago. Oops.
37. Drove to Pine Bluff three times roundtrip.
38. Asked by co workers to bring fresh sushi for tasting.
39. Got frustated at MES for the new crazy mandatory pick up routine. Adds 30 minutes to get my children.
40. Ate a box of hot tamales.
41. Handled 1 unit of A+ blood.
42. Browsed through job board at JRMC to see if any positions in L & D were open. Michael look there for IT jobs.
43. Filled up gas tank twice.
44. Lost 5 pens during one shift.
45. Saw Brandy M. and Kristy at Walmart.
46. Met Mark for coffee at Dad's Place.
47. Observed three smokers out on the curb at JRMC. This comment was for Carolyn. They are STILL doing it!
48. Used a toy skeleton hand to give my hubby a back rub.
49. Listened to co workers laugh as they watched "The History of Dance."
50. Felt embarrassed and turned red as another young female nurse grabbed my butt.
