Friday Fever
Broken.1. What's the last thing you broke?
-My husband's heart when I told him that I had forgotten that I had signed up for a fourth work day this week (I signed up in August so I truly did forget). I was reminded last night!
2. What's the most expensive thing you've broken?
-Mark's leather jacket. I accidentally ripped it down the side when I grabbed at it. We were dating at the time. I think we paid 80.00 post marriage, to get it fixed. I loved the black leather jacket...it smelled so much like "him" that I would take it, and sleep with it in my dorm. It also had one of those silky linings. You know the kind that you loved as a kid...the ones that you could rub it with your fingers and suck your thumb at the same time? I hope that wasn't just me who did that...
3. Do you consider yourself clumsy or graceful?
-Has anyone ever seen me do step aerobics? If so, you have seen a definite clumsiness to my routine.
4. How much money do you have in your wallet right now?
-.11 cents! My checkbook is an endless source of wealth though (I guess until the checks clear the bank, leaving me high and dry).
5. Someone asks for change while you're walking down the street--what do you do?
-Think about writing them a check, since I have no change! Look around, hoping I see a Mc D's sign, so that I can buy them lunch. In Seattle due to the large volume of homeless folks, I tend to look the other way (most time it's some scam).

I almost never have cash in my purse.. but I do tend to have tons of change! I'm a check writer too!
by the way, do you have any Saturday nights off in October? Clayton gets off at 5pm on saturday and sunday nights on Oct. and we're trying to plan a get together for the Parkers here at our house... trying to see who would be able to show! (anyone else who reads this, let me know!) If you were friends with the Parkers, you're invited!
-Mandy,
I am off alot on the weekends this next month. Mark is gone mid month to a conference...which I am looking for someone to watch the critters so I can hitch hike with him. Pick a night and let me know.
In the city, you can totally tell the fakers from the truly needy...there is no comparison. I have NO problem giving to the truly homeless, especially the older people.
However, when someone saunters up to you at a gas station or in a parking lot, you'd be much safer just to politely say "sorry" and keep walking then to pull out your wallet or purse. An honest person would understand this and not put you in that situation.
