OAMC in Monticello?

It's called Once A Month Cooking? Anyone heard of such a concept? Well, I realized recently that this is something I need to start! I have spent so much money on eating out lately, that I am ashamed! So, I had this idea...OAMC. I don't really want to do it alone, since my sanguine personality forbids me to be alone! I had an ingenious thought...get a group together, decide on the recipes, and have everyone cook that same meal for everyone in the group. What you end up with (if say, you have 5 people), is a weeks worth of pre-cooked, healthy, super cheap, super speedy dinners. Does this interest anyone? I will get some books and recipes together if anyone is interested. I can't wait to get this group up and running! Common y'all were in this together! What we would end up with is less dollars out of the pocketbook and more time with our families. I know of one in our tight knit group that bakes fresh bread. What an excellent companion to any meal. Anyone game?

i'm already in a group that cooks once a month. the way we do it is we meet once to set recipes and divide out jobs (someone makes lunch, someone shops, someone cuts produce, etc.) then we set a cooking date. on that day we each bring a cooler and freezer bags labeled for the number of meals we have chosen (usually about 10 recipes. . .and i usually double, so i get about 20 meals). each person chooses a recipe, gathers everyone else's bags who also chose that recipe, and then throw all the ingredients in the bags. after a day of fun with friends you go home with 20 ready-to-go meals in your freezer! awesome, huh? you can join ours, if you like, or just come to a meeting or 2 for ideas for your own group to get started!
btw. . .did you know tj got me a mill for my bday? now i make my own bread AND grind the flour from fresh wheatberries. . .how cool is that?

Just a get together to exchange meals. I am excited to start if anyone is interested. I have one, but need others. Oh Brandi, when is the meeting. I might want to start till I can get mine up and running.
Ditto for me too on that Brandi-I am not ever sure how open to things like that, people are.So please if you are interested step right up!!!!!!LOL
