Worst Day Ever

I know, how can that be after taking such cute pics of my kids. Well, after we took the kids to their eye appointments where they both got their eyes dilated, we decided to take Ethan for a hair cut. That's when all the fun began. They started shaving Ethan's hair when I noticed a bug in his hair. The lady immediately put the clippers down, started freaking out and telling us we needed to leave the store! I told her we didn't have lice and that she just can't leave my sons hair like that! She didn't care so we left right away. I googled lice when we got in the car and sure enough it was lice! I went right over to Walgreens and bought Rid. We went home, clipped his hair and washed it with RID! Yuckie! Since then we have all RiD ourselves, bathed several times a day, washed every piece of laundry, threw out his mattress, and cleaned the whole house up and down and still manage to feel dirty. Maybe it's because of how much we've researched lice and viewed images of the nits and bugs. Did you know that the lice's saliva has the power to thin human blood? That the nits have a glue like substance that binds it to the hair? That 24 hours away from its host it dies? That they can hold their breath? That they crawl using their claws? That they can destroy plans that a family has made for nearly two weeks? He hee! Well NOW you do, and I pray that none of my extended family or friends have to go through this! We have one more Rid treatment and then the kids will continue to wash their hair with a product called Zippity Doos, which claims to keep their heads in an environment unfavorable to lice. Who knows maybe a mayonnaise treatment once a month is in the plans.....
