Sunday Drive

We decided to head out of town on Sunday for a relaxing drive, since Mark hadn't gotten a chance to enjoy the van. We headed up to Monroe to the Reptile Zoo and then over to Tulalip Casino and outlet mall. The Zoo was packed full of tons of variety of snakes, even the deadliest snakes in the world. They had a huge anaconda snake, albino alligator, and a crocodile. The kids were able to hold the docile snakes if there was a instructor present. Charlie loved it, Ethan tolerated it, and it increased Val's desire for a Copperhead Snake! I just received last night a full four page (back and front) illustrated/written report on the snake, how much he costs, how to care for him, and his feeding rituals. Pretty detailed.

The outlet mall was crowded, and the kids were starving so we didn't get the best look around. The casino buffet was awesome. Prime Rib was on the menu along with anything else you could think of. Charlie lost her second tooth right in the middle of dessert, so she wasn't too happy!

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
