The Last Hoorah

The last day of play before mamma has to go back to work! Took everyone to the spray park in Puyallup. The older two spent time at the library, getting a card and checking out books! They joined us later for a small picnic of plums and hummus with pretzel chips. Lanie loved all of it and might have some crazy Digestive issues in the next few days since she ate three plums. The older two were very board and frustrated that I wanted them to come with until I started reading the first chapter of The Great Gastby to Valerie. Her AP classes demand summer homework. Charlie also recorded three more hours of reading with the Puyallup Library. She loves to read! She had started slacking off since she got her color changing pencil for her first five hours of reading! We are back on track and I am excited to be going back to work--I think!

Progress:
Watching what I eat, planning dinner, called LA Fitness to set up strength training, listened to the next episode in the Weight Loss Podcast, going to work out tonight--not because I feel like it but because I should (podcast- episode 1).

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
