Garden Trespassing

I've always wanted to stop at one of these community gardens...but was afraid that I would be yelled at for being in the garden. It turns out that I didn't get yelled out for being in the garden, but welcomed! I was told to enjoy and look around all I want. I talked to one of the garden plot owners for about 15 minutes on the process of community gardening. It fascinates me, plus I love seeing the garden as a whole. I love the weeds, dead vegetables, the growth of new ones, the colors and intensity of each color in the veggies, and then the amazing flowers (they love being together, veg-flowers that is) that live and breathe the same air. So peaceful! The cute garden benches, the plot signs, and Proctors' garden library inspires me. My heart is screaming "I want to belong. I want to have a little plot that others can admire." For me, it isn't about getting fruits or vegetables from a garden, it's about watching something grow!

Prescription for Peace and Popsicles

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
