Our yard three years ago

My brother the landscaper!

I want to do this when the lawn comes in!



Apparently this is the same day 3 years ago that we beautified our lawn! My FB told me we are duplicating what was already done, but FB has no idea how bad the front yard was trashed. Literally parts were dead, black, and dry. My brother told me I would have to redo it or he would resign as our landscaper. Ha ha ha. He came over last Saturday around 0745, thatched our lawn three times, and started our transformation process. Harry and Arlene are always so helpful with these projects. I have to laugh though because I think it's just a way for Arlene to get Harry outside. They were amazing. They arrived with donuts at 0930 and never complained or acted like we owed them anything for helping. Unconditional love! Mark and I both know our strengths...I'm a starter and he's a finisher (he claims it's because I think these projects are easy and when they turn difficult, I beg for his help). He got home after working all morning and helped spread 2 yards of 3/1 soil. Our yard isn't perfect yet but it is on its way...we had it hydro seeded last Wednesday. Thank Jer for all you do for us. I hope that this grass makes you happy again.

PS I think Mark is going to kill me if I don't stop asking him to water the yard every second! Ha ha ha!

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
