It had been a hard month for my family and I'm pretty sure we will not be the same for a very long time. We have had a lot of time together lately though. We need each other. I am blessed to have our family on both sides. A family isn't always defined by blood either. It was so nice to go see Mary Poppins last weekend so we could see Matt and Kaarin. They have always been a part of our family.

TheAbston family reunion was good. We went on a weekend where they were hiding another 100 glass floats on the beach. I got up on Sunday at 345am and combed the beaches with my sister in law trying to find one for my sister (in Mike's honor). We didn't end up finding one but it was such a beautiful time to walk the beach, enjoy the waves, the quietness and Jill's company.  We did manage to come home up with a trophy. Ethan received the "Best Bargain Babe" shopping cup.

It has been  wonderful having time off work to be there for my sister. I want to help her as much as I can. I miss her when I'm not with her, and wish I could do more, say more, or take more burdens off her shoulders. In the end I have learned that we get strength from our families. We need each other. I love my family, each and every one of you!!

Prescription for Peace and Popsicles

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
