Weekends are the Best

Image
What a busy weekend. Friday Val was honored and chosen by her teachers to attend WE Day in Seattle. She was able to see lots of famous celebrities and spend time with some of her classmates and awesome teachers. Val's teachers adore her! Saturday we drove Ethan to Snohomish to spend the day with his girlfriend Caitlyn. We met her parents at the Matlby Cafe for brunch and stuffed ourselves on eggs Benedict, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, omelettes, and shared the largest cinnamon roll I have ever seen. After we stopped by Snoqualmie Falls for a present for  Norie's package 📦 and of course enjoyed the scenery. We even had a chance to stop for 2 geocaches along the way. After driving all day, I got 1 hour break at home and decided to take Charlie down to open gym at Black Hills gymnastics for Parens night out. It was a crazy day but also lots of fun. Sunday Valerie made us duck egg omelettes and I had "bird in a nest" with some fresh thick yummy Japanese toast. I Also we...

Eggscellent

We love participating in egg coloring each year. We all get very serious about decorating and we ended up with great looking eggs that no one wants to eat because they are our masterpieces. We draw, sharpie, Color, paint, and even use nail polish on our works of art. Sometimes we even go to the internet for ideas, Pinterest is 100% helpful in creating an original egg. Even though I worked a 12 hour shift, they waited for me so that I could join in.   Concentration at its' best   Using sharpies to create   My masterpieces      E's works of art Charlie's creations    Marks fine Pieces   Valerie's!     Valerie's crazy art which is very detailed. No she doesn't do Mary Jane (420), the kids just think it's funny! They are definately from Washington State!   Then on Easter I went to work and the family went to the Nagels' and then to the Wegleys'. Everyone had fun  from what I heard, maybe a little too much fun! Last Easter wasn...

A Great Northwest Goodbye For Now

Image
We are back home and the car is unpacked, mail is sorted and filed away, and Mark worked for a bit this afternoon. Sometimes I would feel like we never went away because it is so quick and life's stresses and plans return like I've never been gone. It's not true this time. Sure I was knee deep in the mail but everyone was doing great.  The house is clean (thanks to our wonderful teens who did laundry and dishes while we were gone), the mail was already sorted by ads and bills, and the kitties were safe and well fed! We were able to watch Ethan's soccer home game and he even scored a goal!!!!!!!! Awesome. Now it's time for one more day off and then back to the daily grind. Pretty sure I'm in a good place for it.     Update*** Wednesday we took Valerie to TCC and Pierce so she could make some decisions. She likes TCC but also is leaning more towards Pierce because it is a newer facility, closer to home, and her bestie might join her. I am so proud ...

Great Northwest Cabins

We got here just fine on Sunday. The drive is always fun, and unlike Charlie believes, void of arguing about my driving once we got out of town. She had told us the day before that she Knows what we are going to do in the car ride to Packwood ..."Dad and you are going to argue about how you drive!" She listens and notes everything. These kids are too smart. Charlie you were wrong though, there wasn't any fighting, just two hours of listening to a book on tape together! I've been trying to finish the same book for two years...since I'm so close to the end Mark downloaded it for me so I could finish it on the car. I'm listening to it now by the fireplace. Mark is online teaching at the same time. The fireplace is on and my blanket is within reach. Life is good. We've hot tubbed twice, ate a salad at Cruisers, watched a movie, enjoyed meat, cheese and crackers, took a walk into town together, enjoyed morning coffee at The Mountain Goat in a adorand...

Snapchat, Minecraft, and Partying x2

The Best of Snapchat Charlie is on my phone a lot. I should know by now where all my battery life goes...to the Snapchat App! I love getting these though. They are creative, hilarious, and usually disappears from the app (which doesn't use my data) if I don't save them. She is definately a child of this generation because she is very into taking pictures of herself. My favorite from the group is actually mine at the bottom. It totally depicts what I've been doing lately. Sleeping. Resting. Trying to drowned out the pain.             Birthday Party at Moctezuma's and a Tea Party Lexie is Charlie's best friend. She is the sweetest girl. Charlie was able to participate in Lexie's second birthday surprise party at Moctezuma's on Saturday. We were invited by her Dads to their family and close friends party. It was fun watching the girls get so silly. Of course the girls tried to snea...
