Weekends are the Best
What a busy weekend. Friday Val was honored and chosen by her teachers to attend WE Day in Seattle. She was able to see lots of famous celebrities and spend time with some of her classmates and awesome teachers. Val's teachers adore her! Saturday we drove Ethan to Snohomish to spend the day with his girlfriend Caitlyn. We met her parents at the Matlby Cafe for brunch and stuffed ourselves on eggs Benedict, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, omelettes, and shared the largest cinnamon roll I have ever seen. After we stopped by Snoqualmie Falls for a present for Norie's package 📦 and of course enjoyed the scenery. We even had a chance to stop for 2 geocaches along the way. After driving all day, I got 1 hour break at home and decided to take Charlie down to open gym at Black Hills gymnastics for Parens night out. It was a crazy day but also lots of fun.
Sunday Valerie made us duck egg omelettes and I had "bird in a nest" with some fresh thick yummy Japanese toast. I Also went to Lacey to pick up my pumpkin. Traffic was bad on the opposite side so I thought I should wait it out in Lacey. Lanie made that decision easy by requesting me (I've always told her to just ask when she was ready) to take her to get her ears pierced! My Auntie Karen took me without my parents permission when I was about her age. She was so brave. She didn't make a peep when they did the first ear, she just smiled through it. I thought the second ear would be scarier but she was just fine. Amazing! She looks so grown up and is very proud of her new earrings. Her daddy would've been so proud of her! By the time we left on Sunday the traffic was still horrendous but it only took 45 minutes total to get home.
Now it's time to rest before work on a Thursday. I made the best Navy Bean soup tonight in the Instant Pot. I absolutely love that thing. I paired it with egg salad sandwiches. Easy meal. Glad that I did because I thought I would get some relaxing time at home but I unfortunately am in the ER (1st time ever with any of my kids) with my son who swallowed a plastic bottle top and it is stuck in his throat. It will be a long night.
