Ocean Shores

What a whirlwind of a weekend. Friday started out with Charlies best friend sleeping over, I went to an Opera in the theater Saturday morning while Mark worked, and then later that day we left out of town for a one day/night quick trip to the ocean torestore our souls! Now it's 0644 in the morning on Monday and I wish we had more time to spend together.

We had a great time at the ocean. We ate yummy fish and chips, swam for nearly 2 hours at the Shilo, and played card games in our room. Ethan did well amusing us even though he was busy talking to his friends via text. I made him put it away and he wasn't too happy about it. It gets Val mad because she wants to spend time with him and he is always texting one of his friends. It usually ends with me trying to break up the frustration with reminding Val that she is not the parent. It was only 30 minutes of our time at the ocean so it was fine. What do you expect when you rent one room for two teens, yourself, husband and a 9 year old? Exactly!

Sunday we went to all the cute shops, bought some taffy, a cute Christmas ornament made from a gourd, and a mood ring for Charlie ( like we don't know her moods yet?). Val got a cool Christmas present for her friend. We also walked the beach and fed the seagulls. We were very popular with the seagulls and they pretty much attacked and surrounded us because we gave them food. It was a crack up, and now I need to get a car wash! Hahah. We even got two geocaches under our belt on the way home. I
miss these precious moments with the kids. We used to do little getaways all the time but everyone has crazy schedules now.
