First and Final Camping Trip
Hahhaa. We started off the summer with promises of camping but managed to never get around to it till the very last moment. Probably because my hubs would much rather be in a nice hotel room than sleeping on a blow up mattress, in the middle of nowhere, cold to the bone, and all without the comforts of home. He’s not an adventurer in that sense. I grew up loving camping. The smell of the fire, the sounds of my father building a fire in the crisp morning air, the clanging of the pots from my moms amazing camp fire cooking, and the freedom of riding bikes, catching salamanders, playing in the water, and making new friends with other campers is what I’ve remembered the most. I love ❤️ adventure! I ❤️ sharing that adventurous spirit with my kids. We spent two nights in Forks @ Mora Campground. The spot (A24) was perfect. Enough room to pitch two tents, and have six by the fireplace. The bathrooms were close by and the cost of the campsite was $20/per night. I think that’s way cheaper than a hotel! We enjoyed ourselves. We spend plenty of time sightseeing our Twilight town, geocaching some interesting spots, and even stopped at a Twilight Auction Museum. It is the 10th Anniversary of Breaking Dawn next month so I think they are hoping for some big names to come into town. Maybe we will have to make a pilgrimage back to Forks next month;) We walked up and down the beach, over to the “Hole in the Wall” and back! It was a great little hike (3 miles round trip), 13,856 steps total for Friday! Of course the best part of camping is the s’mores. Along with roasting marshmallows we also roasted starbursts and candy corn! So much fun was had and I can’t wait to do it again!
