Leaning Into the Season

Our Queen Themed Tree

This weekend was jammed packed with fun. I’m still under the weather, but it’s weird how this cold makes you feel horrible one day and then the next you feel like your getting over it.  Yesterday was rough, last night was worse, this morning better. Saturday I took whoever wanted to go (just the girls) to the Festival of Trees. We saw some amazing trees. They had a Moana tree, a Chick Fil A tree, soccer tree, Gnome Tree, a Southern Tree, and the best was a T-Rex 🦖 tree! It was my favorite. The T-Rex tree came with a talk from  Dr Tofts that discovered the T-Rex during a dig, a journey to the site, and much more! The trees are auctioned off at the end of Day 4 at the Gala. Festival of Trees posted that they raised 1.6 million dollars for Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. Later that night we met up with my side of the family to go see the Puyallup Parade and lighting ceremony. It was a fun time watching with my siblings and parents. It was so convenient to park at their house and walk over to the park. I love their new house and hope they stay there for a long time!

Room check Wars was last night!!! I love how this has transformed my son. He is very into this! He didn’t want me to remind the girls but I did because I still wanted their rooms to be clean. He keeps his room cleaned every week and then does extra on Monday such as laundry, vacuuming, and cleaning his window sill. He even dressed up in a suit and tie for his presentation. Hands down he was our winner!!

I also got Charlie into get a hair cut. She wanted a “V” cut. So basically her hair in the back is in the form of a V with some layering on the sides and back. She loves it. Yesterday Mark saved us $150-300 by working on his car by himself. We fixed two things on the car with the help of YouTube and worked on Val’s car yesterday. Her heater blower stopped working so we tested the fuses, pulled the blower motor out and tested that and today are going to a PickandPull to get a resistor off a Saturn Vue in their yard. I love saving money and diagnosing issues. It is my love language. I watched several videos on how to replace the heater switch in the dash so if the resistor doesn’t work that’s our next bet. I think I must’ve thanked Mark a thousand times yesterday when he went along with my plan to fix his car by ourselves. We did have to take the front light completely off the car to get to the bulb but we did it. It cost us $16 versus $150-300 (quoted price).  His car is road ready once again thanks to the power of You Tube and my husband. Oh also the light my dad gave us for working on the car was 100% appreciated yesterday. Most of my memories are of my dad under the hood of a car with his legs sticking out from underneath and using that light to help locate the exact spot he was working on.
