Food 52 Weekend

Image
When Valerie was here in January she heard me talking about the next cookbook for January’s Food 52 Cook Book group. I love seeing new recipes and of course reading their suggested cook books. She joined on the spot after I told her about the group. She joins a lot of groups though (even ones about being a ant 🐜). I sent her the cook book from Amazon and we agreed on our first two recipes to cook together. FaceTime made this process so much fun. I wish I had FT when we lived in Arkansas!!! Would’ve helped with the homesickness that I felt. We spent nearly two hours creating, cutting veggies, and enjoying our masterpieces together. It was a lot of fun! Flavor Cookbook by Ottolenghi is the one we started with and might continue with for the next two months since it’s so large and full of tasty want-to-try recipes (in the middle picture Val has all her must try recipes marked with sticky notes). We picked out 6 recipes and agreed upon 2 (one from each). My mom is going to benefit from us...

Happy Birthday

2 days old 0-12 Happpy 13th Charlie switched the candles around to say”31st” Happy Birthday My sweet teenager! We had a quiet celebration with just the grandparents and her best friend Lexie. They have been friends since the 2nd grade. Today they did each other’s makeup for the party!!! When did they go from giggling together to doing each other’s makeup makeovers? She is quite the amazing teenager. She is so fun to sit back and watch grow. She lights up a room, has the absolute sweetest heart (all my children do too) and has so many fun interests. For her birthday we weren’t ready to loosen the reigns for a FB account but we did sign off on a Instagram Account. She has already posted some cute pictures, scary FX makeup pictures, and some kind words to live by. Even though she started back to school today we spoiled her by taking her to Pt Townsend this weekend. We bought her a cute skirt, adorable camo jacket, tea tree essential oils, and a computer! 💻👩🏻‍💻

VRBO Aka Cabin Life

The ferry to Clinton Wa. Langley The Crows Nest He won this time!  We took a Quick getaway in Early December to Whidbey Island for some quiet time before the Christmas Break was underway. We stayed at the lofty Crows Nest VRBO that rested atop Cultus Bay. The views were beautiful and the house was very modern industrial with a hint of minimalism. The furniture either came from ikea or resembled the ikea fashion. We visited Langley while on the island. It was full of cute little Unique shops that were beautifully decorated for Christmas. We let Yelp and the locals tell us where to eat and ended up having the best sandwiches from Pickles Deli and then when we were leaving to catch the ferry back we picked up breakfast bagels from Whidbey Island Bagel Factory. I have been craving them ever since we came home. Best bagels around!  It was a great time reconnecting, resting, and Reviving up for the holidays!!!  We found the cutest little couch in Langley for our bedroom (at a ...
