We took a Quick getaway in Early December to Whidbey Island for some quiet time before the Christmas Break was underway. We stayed at the lofty Crows Nest VRBO that rested atop Cultus Bay. The views were beautiful and the house was very modern industrial with a hint of minimalism. The furniture either came from ikea or resembled the ikea fashion. We visited Langley while on the island. It was full of cute little Unique shops that were beautifully decorated for Christmas. We let Yelp and the locals tell us where to eat and ended up having the best sandwiches from Pickles Deli and then when we were leaving to catch the ferry back we picked up breakfast bagels from Whidbey Island Bagel Factory. I have been craving them ever since we came home. Best bagels around! 


It was a great time reconnecting, resting, and Reviving up for the holidays!!! 

We found the cutest little couch in Langley for our bedroom (at a second hand store) and another trunk for Arline to work on.
It isn’t still in that spot since we rearranged a bit! It’s a great edition to our bedroom. The kids like to call it a sex couch but that is not what it is used for. Typically it has my clothes and laundry on it🥰.

Someone is glad we are home!

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
