Confiscated!

I did it! I confiscated all the violent toys from my five year olds bedroom. I am sure more are lurking around, but I grabbed and hid the majority of them. I don't know if I am the only mom that feels this way, but I hate the behavior that stems from certain toys, movies, gameboys, computer games that my son consumes with his time. I don't know if it will change his behavior but I am sure willing to try. I remember several times, where my mom would steal the T.V. and store it in her closet for months at a time. I also stated that I would never be so dramatic! I am to this point now. I understand now why she did these things too, she did them for our own benefit. She wanted the best for us! She wanted us to be creative with our time, to learn and grow, to play outside and enjoy the fresh air, and get along with each other! I have come to discover that with the joys of parenting, comes "guilt" and "uncertainty." Am I doing what is right? I don't know. I can only hope that they forgive me for being so strict....and dramatic! Oh, and let me clarify something...Opus is not evil! He just doesn't belong in my living room as a decorative piece, right Mark?!

The "yuppie" Opus pictured in this post has now been safely recovered and is in stable condition. The ordeal was "touch and go" for a bit, but Opus is recovering with much love and support from friends and family. Opus wishes to thank all of you for your concern over his recent mistaken identity as a "violent" toy. He has not disclosed whether or not he will pursue compensation for damages.

I hereby declare no regret or remorse toward the ill forgotten "opus." He plagued my living room for 8 months. Truly enough is enough. Sad to say I will eventually have to pay for my actions. If I had to do it all over again, I would! Sorry Opus, but I have no feelings for you!!! Next time you will be fed to the dogs....Stay clear of my path you lowesome creature. I love your owner though :)

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
