How can you be...

How can you be Mrs. Wendy and the dentist? This is the question Ethan asked our friend, and dental hygienist, when she came over to pull Valerie's third loose tooth. Valerie can't handle them sitting in there loose, so after three weeks of waiting for it to get loose enough we called Mrs. Wendy to come do it. Handy to have a friend who is skilled in such things!

This made me think...the question Ethan posed that is! I feel people who have known me my whole life (okay and some for only 12 years) have the same reaction now that I am graduating. How
can you be Angela and a Registered Nurse? Well definitely one answer is four years, two of recent, of the worst hell one can endure (okay, a little exaggerated). The other, I am not sure! I have my schooling, but not my feet firmly planted. What this means, don't expect me to know everything a 10 year veteran knows.

First, let me dispel what my actual degree means. I am graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. What does that mean, you
say? Well it means along with my four year degree from a credited university, I am qualified to sit for my "Boards" at the "National" level. The word boards is lightly interpreted here, as one big "friggin" test, to see if I am prepared for entry level nursing. Upon completion of that test, I am then eligible for any Registered Nurse position. I was not trained to be just a Registered Nurse though. My degree is specific for management positions, such as "Charge Nurse." I hope this explains my degree a little.

I will continue on with my Master's degree later when or during Mark's return to a doctoral program! It will take about two years to complete as well. I found my niche during nursing, eventually I want to be working in a "research" environment. I loved the research part of my profession (and even received a fortune cookie stating I would succeed in the area of medical research one day-this was after my interest was sparked). Maybe finding a cure or two for some idiopathic disease is looming in my future!

I hope you all can transition with me, during this new part of my life. I know what you are saying... She doesn't even know where "Portland Avenue" is! But trust me when I say what's more important, knowing where your Sphincter of Oddi is(and the correct medication to be given to avoid spasms), or where Portland avenue is?

It was Pacific Avenue, silly. And, when my sphincter starts to spasm, I'll hope you know where it is, cause you'll need to drive on it to get me to the hospital!
Love you :)
