Eggcellent Eastering

Image
I had a long blog post completed last night that somehow disappeared. Maybe it was for the best as I had a lot to say and many disappointments to reveal. Problem is, I can't hide much so I'm pretty sure everyone knew how I felt yesterday. Yesterday was hard! It kept my poor husband up till 2 am...relaying my whole week of disappointments. I had no idea how much everything was affecting me. I love talking to him. He makes sense out of all my concerns. I feel sorry for people who don't have someone like Mark. He is my best friend, the only one I can trust my feelings with, and that is completely apparent during this past week.  Easter sucked. I'm left hoping that Charlie didn't notice and that spending time with her cousins allowed her to be blinded to the other family squabbles that was happening. I hope that this was not the case when I was little. Most of my family values comes from the tight knit family I experienced when I was younger. We spent Sunday's sitti...

Futball

I love this time of year! Soccer has finally found a place in my heart, since my kids are obsessed with the sport, the players, and the culture.  Ethan tried out for FP this year (Ford didn't have a team) and made it. He and we were elated! The schedule is busy now but on Tuesday's and Friday's in most weeks we are on the sidelines watching this new team grow. So far we have tied once, and won three! Ethan even scored a goal in the last game. I wish I could've been there. Mr Henry apparently was bragging about his goal to Ethan's Avid teacher, because she was talking about it at his conference today. He was amazing at his school conference. He led the whole thing, spoke with confidence, and had all his stuff together in the notebook. He even dressed up for the conference! Completely different kid then when we whined at him for his missing assignments last night. I think the only problem with this year is Mr Henry, his Biology teacher. Unfortunately it also happens t...

A Night Out of Town

Image
Things seen in Leavenworth, Washington Holding up the tree in Leavenworth! We stayed at The Sleeping Lady on a quick one night stay in Leavenworth. The lodge was beautiful, the cabin was small (Ethan and Charlie slept in the loft), quaint, with a slight rustic charm and a few modern amenities- robes, towel warming rack, and organic coffee (and no TV-YES)! I loved it. I could stay there for a week and enjoy the Organic Garden (in summer), the food (we didn't eat there though but I heard by other patrons in the pool, that Charlie had to chat with, that it was well worth it), the amazingly large hot tub created in a rock formation that stays open late (Charlie and I went twice-she learned to float on her back, and swim underwater), the kids playroom that had ping pong, pool, and a puppet show, the comfortably quiet library, possibly the workout room, the spa, the fresh clean air, the clear night skies (#dipperfordays) and probably never think about venturing into town at all (well may...

Mental Health Day

Image
Charlie wanted a mom day. A mental health day spent with just her and I. How could I refuse that request? She has had great attendance this year so I felt that one day off to reconnect after my busy work week was a great idea. Charlie made a list of things she thought we should do during our special day together.  1. Buy a cookie at GSH when we dropped off the chili (made veggie chili for March of Dimes Cookoff) 2. Go shopping at Claire's for earrings 3. Eat Lunch 4. Go see a movie We did all four plus some! Charlie picked out the largest diamond earrings at Claire's, we ate cookies for breakfast, visited gpa and gma, shopped for Val a bit, returned Ethan's phone to Apple (have to redo that today too-doesn't work), ate lunch at AAA Buffet (her choice) (thanks for the coupon mom), went to Barnes and Noble, and finished the day off watching Zootopia (she begged for a picture by Dead Pool). What a fun day with an incredibly funny girl!

Day Dates

Image
I'm so excited for Spring and Summertime! Our date last rotation was a date to The Hub and a stroll through Wright's Park. I love the Arboretum there and remember going there as a child. It was a tad smaller than I remembered it (always the case when your small and everything is larger than life to you). I think maybe it was my grandmother who took us there too? Anyhow, I think I could just go there and sit for days! Well that is if my back would let me. I've had a sore back for nearly two weeks, and nothing is helping. I've tried massages, IBP 600 mg PRN, Tylenol 650 mg PRN, hot tubs, rest, and stretches. Weight loss is my next and last ditch effort. I am going to Multicare Wellness Clinic on March 29th. So back to the Arboretum. I love gardens. My next garden tour needs to be the one that  Paul and Carol Gautschi created in Sequim Wa. His film called, Back to Eden, uncovers a new way (or old depends on how you look at it) to garden. I plan to use his theory in my own ...
