Our Fourth of July included foot golf, geocaching, and lots and lots of fireworks! I Have to say, that the round of foot golf with our family and my brothers' kids was the highlight of my day. Even though there was pouting/complaining in the beginning, a few tears in the middle of the course (my teen) and some frustrations at the ending scores (between the little ones) we had a great time and would love to do it again soon! After foot golf we took the kids to Steilacom Park and geocached for an hour. We found one in a graveyard, all ghostly like. One near a tree, that Shakespeare would have loved to sit under and nothing on this poor tractor that was nearly dismantled trying to find the cache. We did go back another day and find the cache with Chris. Or in actuality he found the cache! We don't like the feeling of leaving a cache if we didn't find it! After grabbing food from Winco we headed to my brothers house for the fireworks show!🎇
Information for next year: Jeremy buys way too many so curve your enthusiasm and buy just a few!
It all began in 1986! My parents volunteered to host a Japanese exchange student, through our local church! Norie flew to Washington State for a 3 week introduction to the our country. We hit it off the minute I met her. She came, with my parents, to pick me up from summer camp. Her little Japanese/English dictionary was the only way we could communicate. I guess in the end it didn't matter! She fell in love with the States, and I fell in love with Japan. I think that is what my parents had in mind, for us to understand a bit of culture that existed outside of our own. She quickly became my best friend. Through the years, she has visited twice (one of those times was when I was married in 1994), I have visited her in Japan in 1992, and then in New York in 2004. Norie loved the States so much that she ended up attending college here and currently resides in New York City! She has taught me so much respect for the Japanese culture. My desire to live there, has remained constant sin...
The Challenge: Have as many women as I can interpret what I meant by "Spending ever day looking for new ways to reinvent our relationship." Please leave your comments so that I know I wasn't speaking a foreign language with my spouse. Men, feel free to comment as well! I'm sure you will anyways. Conversation with hubby: Me: I have a New Years Resolution that I think would be fun for us, do you want to hear it? Man: Sure Me: I think every day we should look for new ways to reinvent our relationship? Man: What do you mean? Me: I just said what I meant. Man: No you didn't really explain what you mean, though. Me: You know, finding little things that would change our relationship...doing something each day. Man: That seems taxing! Me: Working on our relationship is work? Man: Yeah, I wouldn't know what to do. That's 365 days, you know. Me: There are calendars out there that will tell you things to do that are romantic! Buy one. Man: Yeah, but most of them are ...
Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! We had a great time chatting, the conversation ranged from ovulation...and ended with ovulation. I think Micheal enjoyed the conversation as much ...
