Reunion Days 1/2

I am so glad I was able to make this Reunion! I have four girls at work covering my shifts. I love the driving to get where we are going, love family time, love hanging out with this side of the family and love playing competitive May I games! Mark has some incredible family members and I am soooo blessed to have had them as my family for the past 23 years. I enjoyed spending Saturday "shopping day" with all the teenagers. They are always so much fun and easy to please. We ended up shopping at Goodwill, Fred Meyer, another local Thrift shop and a cute Tea Shop in Sandy Oregon. We all met up later that day at Calamity Janes for lunch. Saturday night started the May I tournament after shopping and golfing was over. Andrea won the Abston Cup in Golf, Joe won the shopping trophy and overall trophy, and Melanie won the May I tournament. Saturday night we also took a moment and celebrated our graduate 👨‍🎓.

There were two cabin houses on the property so we were all able to go back and forth from the main cabin (where the older generation and the teens slept) to Little Bear cabin where all Mark's cousins had rooms. We stayed up all three nights super late chatting about everything under the sun. It was awesome!! The stories are always hilarious but there were a couple that were slightly frightening! Still asking a question in my mind about Grandma Abston's decision to tie a old doll by a rope over her bed when Mark and his cousins were little. Doesn't make sense....

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
