Double Digits

Yesterday Charlie turned 10!! Space yay for double digits. I can’t believe she is this old. There is nothing about her that suggests she isn’t though. She has reached her preteen stage for sure and will continue to test her boundaries. She is loads of fun! She has so much energy and can keep up well with her siblings. I was well prepared for her birthday. We planned to just have family but that’s a lot of cake for 5 of us, so I invited mom and dad and his parents to celebrate with us. It was wonderful. We had so much fun and the Wegley’s stayed later and played Jackbox Tv with us. Charlie loves the game but I think she spent more of her time running in place trying to get her steps in before bed. Her new Fitbit was a perfect present. The Nagels got her 100 gel pens and Marks parents got her $25 and a new shirt that matches perfectly with her new Pusheen pants!!! 

Her birthday cake was a Pusheen Cat holding a cupcake. Mark and I made it together. I love him so much for helping me. He is an awesome daddy and husband.

Monday, when we got back from our anniversary trip, found a note on the counter that read: Suzanne called. Play group. Tuesday at 830am. Who would schedule a playgroup so early? Doesn't anyone sleep in? Let the kids find their own breakfast, and stay under the covers till they beg for lunch? Well, you know heat here in the summers, ranging around the 100's, makes us southerners wake up early in the a.m. to do the things we enjoy. When noon rolls around, we hull up in our homes, doors tightly shut, curtains drawn, trying to escape the BIG BAD (the sun appropriately named, right Spike?)! I guess that was not in the cards for us today! We spent the early morning hours playing at the park with pretty much everyone from Journey! Unfortunately around 10 a.m. the heat found us and forced us to retreat to Suzanne's house for some relief! My latest obsessions….puzzling The week after Coyote made a surprise visit! It’s been awhile since I posted! I was just looking back on some posts and giggled so I think it is important to continue since posts tell the story of my life. These pictures were from our latest venture to Paso Robles to see Coyote! Mark, I, and Charlie drove to Paso Robles California in approximately 18 hours. We stayed three glorious days and drove home within the sametime frame. While we were there, we got to see Hearst Castle, visited San Luis Obispo, saw the ocean and tons of beached Sea creatures, ate amazing food, drank amazing coffee, visited a couple of thrift stores, art galleries, and was surprised to find a outdoor vending machine full of specialty meats and cheeses. We purchased a cheese that was literally black all the way through. It was so good and tasty. It had a wonderful lemon taste to it and was very mild. Our Airbnb was located on a Vineyard.
