Leaning In

Image
This girl knows how to get me....what a sweet thing! I love Ethan’s energy out on the field. He is constantly pushing himself to be better, go harder, be stronger, and win! He inspires me to do the same. I interviewed for a position within Multicare. I’m glad I did. Interviewing is scary but sometimes you just got to LEAN IN. I found this book about leaning in at a store in Olympia. Mark and I were waiting for the house to get cleaned so we headed down there for a coffee date and some browsing. Mark found a few used records for .98 cents and I read a good portion of a book by Sheryl Sandburg about purposefully leaning in, in all aspects of life. From marriage to job interviews she seemed to have all the right words to say to the nervous me. I eventually discovered that Mrs Sandberg leans in everyday as a COO for Facebook. This women is quite amazing and to top it all off she has TED talks which I absolutely love. I googled her, as I do with anyone I run across that inspires me or peaks...

Piano Recital

Image
Have to have a little pink in your wardrobe right? Charlie’s piano recital was perfect. She did a beautiful job on the piano with her composure, her grace, and the positioning of her hands. She had a great sound and I love listening to her play and practice. Grandma and grandpa Wegley and Nagel’s both came out to here her play. I was able to get off for 4 hours to see her play piano. It was perfect!!! Charlie Wegley You’ll be in My Heart by Phil Collins

Spring Break

Image
New do! Fun at Ovean Shores How we decide on a movie for movie night My cooking week RSA ready! You own this field!!! Spring break was rather low key. Charlie went to the ocean for her friends birthday, then had her friend over to spend that night. Charlie’s top prioritiy was making slime. It turned out great and even Valerie got in on the fun.  Ethan spent his break at the table working on a ton of homework. He completed nearly all and even finished his research paper (that wasn’t due yet) on the American Dream. Proud of him but sad that he didn’t get much of a break except the day we took him out to see a movie and eat fish and chips on the Tacoma Docks. It was fun to just chill with him. I did take him to a dermatologist and His Alopecia is getting better but we started a regimen to help it grow in faster. It is his first autoimmune disease and according to the doctor may not be his last. It was activated by intense amounts of stress at the end of last year. Breaking up with Cai...

Easter 2018

Image
Jeremy was gracious enough to host Easter this year. I had time off work so we enjoyed the festivities at my brothers house. Easter egg hunts for both the youngest and olders were packed full of fun and drama! I think the adults hid the teens eggs too good! We had a great time hanging out chatting with family! Throwback: My two favorite throwback Easter photos The later one makes my heart ache. I was such a horrible sister on this Easter and I’m pretty sure I ruined the day for my sister and looking back makes it harder because that was the last holiday we spent with Mike. My thoughts have been on him lately. I feel like my heart breaks all over again when I think too much about him. I hate that he’s not here. I hate that I was such a heel that day robbing him of the last fun Easter get together. I hate that my mind thinks that maybe if I wouldn’t have been such a jerk that day that maybe his heart would’ve lasted one more day, or hours, or moments for his loved ones to enjoy. He was ...

Pyramid Place

It so serene out there. I love the woods, the river and the seclusion it provides. Everything smells differently and I swear our coffee takes so much better! We spent two nights away while Valerie held the fort down. She did such a great job I think we will try it again. Maybe not for awhile though...we don’t want to over stay our welcome! #cabinlife

March

Image
We finally made it through birthdays 🎂! We are officially broke...just kidding. If anything broke us it’s the garage door that broke and the small fender fence collision we experienced. Either way we survived and still hanging in there. The calendar is swamped with stuff this month because soccer started up, piano is going, and Valerie is busier with college. The months are flying by. Ethan had a good conference, Charlie had a great report card, and Valerie smashed another semester of college debt free! She is contemplating returning to Camp Gilead this year if she isn’t scheduled to work at Pierce this summer. It will be easier because she has a car now! Next month we are looking forward to Charlie’s 1st Piano recital on April 15th. Mark the calendars. Also here’s Ethan’s soccer schedule for this year.  Valerie received a very special birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa Nagel. A ticket to Hamilton. I didn’t get a chance to go but I’m glad these two got to go. Valerie was i...
