Backyard Process
If you listened every time I go to check on my garden you will hear me talking to my plants! They get plenty of water, sun, and praise for growing the way that I want them too. Charlie is usually right there with me praising them or telling them to how to grow. She is my garden helper! I am very proud of my garden and am constantly looking for new plants to plant or containers to grow in! My dream is to own a garden like the one in California, Huntington Gardens. First off though I think it's time to go back to school. I want to get my Master Gardener degree. It won't make me a profit but will definitely help me learn to take care of my forever garden, when we move into our forever home! I love my small backyard but do dream of land to expand my talents with gardening.
1.What my backyard looked like without boarders. 2.The small potato plant that got transplanted to its new bed. 3. The new boarding on the new flower bed. It houses my hydrangeas, peppers, basil, and potatoes.
The surviving and thriving potato plant. He is beautiful now and will produce yummies later!
The multi kinds of lettuce are from seeds, the kale is growing from last year and my four tomato plants are living in this box. The tomato plants were purchased from McLendon's (2) and the WSU Master Gardener sale (2) so I will be watching to see where I will purchase my tomatoes in the future. Time will tell. The pictures were take three weeks apart;)
Squash, squash and more squash. I put Mr. Acorn and Mr. Butternut are none to happy about sharing their space with Mr. Pumpkin and seem to complain to me nearly daily. They will just have to work it out. The chives, cilantro, and dill don't seem to care what goes on at the other end of the bed.
We talk mostly to these plants..the peas and beans. They are my favorite. The way they wrap around the sticks are so gorgeous. They actually use their hands to climb each stick until they engulf the sticks and eventually you will never see there is a stick there at all. Awesome!! Charlie will be able to feast on these plants forever. Last year we never even saw a crop of beans or peas because Char ate them all. I planted more this year...
He used to get alot of flack last year for growing so slow and producing 1 artichoke. This year I have no complaints! The growth has been amazing. Now lets see some production;)
The new boarder, with my Day Liilies, Snap Dragons, and wildflowers. They love the expanded growth section since we cut some of Mr. Evergreen's skirt off!!
